Mr 3Dogs started the day ok. Alarm went off at 8 am and he got up about 8.30 to have shave and shower. However he couldn't manage a shave as he couldn't stand and lean over the basin long enough. He did have a shower, but came back into the bedroom feeling rotten and in pain. I did our breakfast cereal and he could only eat half. I gave him his morning meds including the new slow release morphine and he went back to bed. After a half hour he was still in pain so I gave him some orimorph and he tried to get some rest
He slept on and off but the pain remained, and he had his lunch-time meds and orimorph and slept a bit more. I went out to take a king size mattress to the tip - you should have seen me getting that out of the house, to the car, and into the back of the car  You would have laughed, and cried, at the struggle I had but I did it and now it is gone :j. I then called at Tosco as my disabled neighbour had asked if I could get a couple of bits and when I got home, I found that the doctor had tried to ring me about 10 minutes before I got in. It was pointless trying to ring back as he would have just been trying between appointments. I did think he may ring later but he didn't, so will have to wait until he rings or comes tomorrow
I have just settled Alan in bed - he has had all his meds today and his last orimorph but is in agony with the sharp pain in his right side if he moves so much as an inch. There is nothing more I can give him or do for him, except try to make him comfy, and I am sitting here in tears typing this as I feel so useless and he is in such pain
I will have to ring the surgery first thing and ask the doc to ring as soon as possible. He did prescribe 10mg and 15 mg but told him to take the 10 mg to see if that is enough, but it looks like he needs the stronger dose ...... and I think I will give him that in the morning
So I've done no catching up today - I may do a little now but wwill be in bed soon so will say goodnight now and hope that tomorrow brings a better day
Sorry to hear that Mr 3Dogs is in so much pain. Hopefully the doctor will be able to do something for him today. It must be very hard and frustrating to watch someone you love so dearly in so much pain and not be able to take it away but please don't feel useless. You are doing a fantastic job and are an inspiration to all that read your posts. The love that you feel for each other can be felt by everyone. :A
Good morning everyone.N1LDA0 -
Need some peppers for tonights dinner so just checking through my wombled APG's to pay for them, got to love free food;)Just had a phonecall from Nannylala to say Auntielala has just wombled a £6 something APG so is hooked:T:T:T:TSo her recuperation after her op on Monday will be walking round A's carparks, although it'll be a while before shes climbing over fences like Nannylala;) :rotfl:
Free food is always good and agree it is very addictive - sounds like a great activity for recuperation as long as bending as not a problem:beer:Been Morries tbh I struggled spend £40 to get £5 off, nothing much happening either, is it any good for whoopsies?

I bought
24 cans carling £14
20 Bottles kronenberg £10
18 Bottles calsberg export £9
Joint of beef £5
Whoopsies £2.10
£40.10 - £5 = £ 35.10
The whoopsies aren't great at our local, we just had pasties ,cakes and bread.
All the beer was cheaper than T's and A's without the money off so well worth going for us.0 -
Hope you find some good homes for your puppies, ToNik. I'd love to have a doggie (I've only been in a dog-free house since moving to the UK
my parents always had doggies) but sadly living on my own, working random 7.5h shifts, 12 hour shifts and night shifts, I don't think it would be healthy for a widdle doggie. Maybe if one day I get someplace with a nice big backyard for a doggie to play in while I'm away... I do miss having them around, though. My mum has microchipped the smallest dog and had him vaccinated so he can come and visit me sometime, but don't think my usual airlines do animal transport so don't think that's going to happen in a while.
which country are they in at the moment? i know lots of airlines that fly pets0 -
Aww postcode x I cant imagine not have dogs around. I have 3 adult dogs and have had dogs all my life growing up. Cant imagine being without I hope one day you can get a doggy friend again x x
I am looking at putting the adut dogs in kennels in august as we want to go away, does anyone know what an average fee would be per dog for a week?? The local kennels want £300 perdog per week:eek: Im hoping thats not normal!
The kennels we used a couple of weeks ago has three costs for dogs all include food - standard kennel £8 per night - standard apartment £10 night and luxury apartment £15 per night - hubby would go crazy if I chose the luxury one but I do pay the £10 night:)0 -

You can get someone to go and house-sit and dog sit instead. I used to do it in NZ and knows a lady here that does it. I think the lady here gets paid something like £50 a week, so that's a lot cheaper than taking the dogs to a kennel.0
