What an idiot. I had no idea the prices were so different. A melon for 69p compared with £2 at T, cherries at half the T (ridiculous) price, cheaper bananas and so on.
I don't buy a lot of processed food but do buy a lot of fresh fruit and veg so a twice weekly trip to Aldi will now be part of my routine.
Thanks Karlie - I hadn't realised how different the prices were
Just wanted to say that i went to Aldi for the first time this week and there fruit and veg are amazing quality. The peaches for 69p are so juicy and lovely. Im definitely going back every week.0 -

Vets just rung & said I shouldn't go on holiday & leave Ancient cat with the house sitter. What if he has a 'turn' - would I give the responsiblity to them to have him put to sleep ?????:mad::mad:

maybe get a shoe box and put his bits and bobs in there. when my hubby was dying we did just this, i asked my son what shall we put in it. we put some pictures, his tobacco pouch and his mug. son wanted to put his dads false teeth in the box as well:eek: but i said no to that.
sorry if i have upset anyone.:(
No, you're right of course MMW and we do talk of such things. Like getting the front garden dug out and gravelled as I won't be able to keep it tidy otherwise when on my own, looking for different bedroom furniture bearing in mind I will only need one wardrobe when on my own, how I will manage for money once he has gone, etc. Alan want to be cremated but that's as far as we've got on that one other than 2 of his songs for the service
I do think of what is going to happen as he gets worse plus wwhat I am going to do when he dies. Whether to stay down here or to move back up North to be with family - no decision on that yet. I would love to live near my family and get to see my great-nieces lots, but all our/my friends are round here, and bet-friends down in Portsmouth. Lots to think about I knowFrench_Knickers wrote: »What you need is a few of us to pose as customers and get very disgruntled and report the person.

What a good idea FK ....... time and place for the flash mob please, Snap - 'just call out our name and you know wherever we are, we'll be there'
Alan felt much better when I woke him at 1.30 so he got ready and we popped dowwn to the cafe, ringing to let Mr Cafe knoww we were on our way and to have our bacon, egg and cheese sarnies ready as he closes at 2pm. Afterwards we had a little look around the auction and then picked up our meds at the surgery dispensary, before heading home and Alan going straight back to bed
I am just getting sorted and then popping along to the Post Office and Tossco - see ya later guysMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

As you say, your day is getting worse by the hour. Poor hun, but you still have to get away and enjoy hour holiday. You won't be away that long and anything that happens would happen whether you are at home or not. But I bet ancient cat will be there when you get back, looking at you as if to say 'oh, have you been away? I didn't miss you. Where's my food?'Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

:(:(:(
Just to bore you all - I've had an absolute carp 24 hours
Horrid work colleague had another go :mad: very very nearly walked but have only tomorrow to work until hols. I thought we worked for the same side but obviously not - tackled them about it later & got nowhere as it seems they can't please me :eek:
All I did was call out the back for someone to help clear the queue. There were 3 of them out back.
This colleague appears & states '3 - that's not a queue' & walks off :mad::mad::mad:
Didn't let me explain that the queue of 3 had been there 10 minutes as I was dealing with a complicated customer. The worst bit is the shame as I went out the back & actually cried
Sounds like colleagues I have at work as well...
Well I just took DD to the library to get her some books, but stoopid me has lost the library card, but it's never been a problem in the past as long as you have ID you can still take books out but this jobsworth wouldn't let us have them. Apparently my driving licence with my picture, name and address wasn't good enough for her, so DD had to put the books back :mad: as I had no cash on me to buy a replacement card. Was not amused to say the least. Had to nip round to the nearest shop to get cashback so I could go back and get them as DD was rather upset at not getting her books, she's only 2 so she didn't know what was going on. Some people *shakes head*
[/end rant]...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
