Well now the OP is paying for something which someone else is obviously exaggerating about. I may be a 'piece of work', but now the OP is getting taken the p!ss out of for costs that he could of avoided. If I knew I had done significant damage, then yes, I'd stick about sort it out, but generally, car's are outdoor items and what happens is what happens. Its not nice, but its life!

And a big fat tongue out to all those people who don't like it.

    Go on... 'quote me'!

Next time, get in your car and walk away! Everyone expects to get some little scratches or bumps - its the MSE board, if it ain't broke, don't break it further! lesson learnt!

When I get permanent video in my cars you'll rue the day you thought up an attitude like that.

If I have to put my vehicles through quasi corporate hires in my own companies to charge huge administration fees I will do and I'll hunt down every toe rag who so much as breathes on them.

Actually, the person with the hire car has agreed to get it sorted on the quiet at one of the Chips Away like places so that they both don't get taken for a ride for a £600 excess. So no P taking is happening here, other than the usual hire company repairs con which is being avoided.

Apart from stonechips, which are only really a problem for motorway cars, the paint and bodywork on cars tends to last just fine until careless people come along and ruin it.

Sure you could be unlucky and hit a brick or something but this is comparatively rare.

I'm going to look into dent repairs (unless anyone can recommend someone in Dundee), as I only know of Dents8 and one possible other but can't for the life of me remember it's name.

Issue with chipsaway et al is they are franchises and so quality can vary.

Worth looking on local car forums for a recommendation (say Scottish Scoobys or Scottish Mini forums and the like). Another alternative that worked well is if you know a car dealer that you trust and they don't do bodywork, ask them who they use to prep their cars. Local garage recommended a place to me and they were amazing. Faultless repair and less than half the price of other quotes.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
