generally speaking self employed consultants tend to be employed by themselves.
    Wrong.

Generally speaking self employed consultants are employees of their Ltd Company that provides the service they provide.

They are employees of their Ltd Company and probably also the Director. They may call themselves self employed but they're not they are employees. You would expect accountants to know that.

I would not deny there is a recession, just cannot see any signs of it in my day to day life. Do seem to be a lot of 61 plate cars around.

We shouldn't underestimate the ability of a post on an internet forum to change the course of history

That's quite correct ... there are advantages to earning £750 a day and paying 20% Corporation Tax :T

£750 a day? Sorry to hear about your 50% pay cut, but I guess this gives you the answer to your opening question; we are indeed in a recession.

I am retired ... in that I am collecting my Pension - but, due to the massive shortfall in manpower I go in on a Consultancy basis ..... £1,500 a day is the going rate for my vast experience.

Sadly, though, new entrants have to suffer a very poor £50k Salary ... this very quickly increases, however.

It took me about 6 seconds to find it, which I imagine is less than the amount of time it took you to make up another boring lie and post it.
