Amazon cancellation request help

Is he admitting to refusing it? That's pretty stupid because he has no idea of if or when you'll get it back.
DON'T LET HIM TOY WITH YOU. Tell him you'll do nothing until you get it back.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
OMG what a !!!!!! he or she is. All the things going on in the world and he has spent so much time and effort over a few measly quid. Some people are just obnoxious.
I assume Amazon would say that he shouldn't have refused delivery and is therefore a breach of the Contract. He hasn't actuallly returned them just refused delivery. He hasn't borne delivery of postage which it clearly says he should have done.
Would you be bothered if you were them? I know I would just accept it was my fault initially and resell it.
Good luck. I for one wouldn't refund and would tell him he hasnt adhered to Amazon's code and that you are not a business just an individual and therefore not subject to Distance Selling Regs.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
PINKGEM (and yes I am shouting) STOP COMMUNICATING WITH THIS GUY UNTIL THE ITEM IS BACK WITH YOU!!
You can only aggrevate this whole situation further.0 -
absolutely hun, hintza is right the more you speak to this numpty the more ammo you are giving him, let him take you to small claims, they will see the effort you have gone to to resolve this and most likely tell him to eff off.
DONT STRESS, if you've left it that you must reply simply refer him to amazon and state you will have no further contact with him,
good luck

I'd just ignore him now as well. You've clearly stated your returns policy. If you get the item back then issue a refund. If not, just leave it.
You've already been in touch with Amazon Customer Services. The only option for him now is to submit an A_Z claim. I haven't been on the receiving end of one of those myself, but I understand that in most cases Amazon will refund the buyer directly and won't look you to you to reimburse him as you haven't received the item back.
Definitely don't keep fuelling the fire by responding to him. If he wants to go to Small Claims over this .... :wall:0 -
Cor, pinkgem, I feel sorry for your situation. He is obviously a complete idiot.
I definitely agree with those who say ignore him for the time being ... whilst you don't have the item back, you don't have any reason to refund.0 -
I have just come home to this:
"You will see from the forwarded email that Amazon suggests refusal of a delivery."
Forwarded email below:
"Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.co.uk with your concern.
I have reviewed our records and have confirmed that order was
successfully submitted and that a payment to the seller was
processed.
Also, I found the order to be placed in Amazon.co.uk Marketplace
thirdparty seller "xxx".
Please be informed that Amazon.co.uk is not directly involved in
these transactions and is not an auctioneer or agent on behalf of
either the seller or buyer. Marketplace Sellers dispatch goods
directly to the customer within two working days of the order being
placed.
If you would like to cancel this order, at first we ask that you
contact the seller to explain the situation and make appropriate
arrangements.
To contact your seller just click the Your Account link at the top
of our site, access your order summary, and click the "View Order"
button next to the relevant order. Then click the "Problem with this
order?" button.
Also, I am pleased to give the email address of this seller :

If your seller has not yet shipped the order, they should be able to
request a refund through our Payments system, up to the amount you
were charged and for up to 90 days after the date of your order.
Completed refunds will be visible in the Order Summary of Your
Account (https://www.amazon.co.uk/youraccount), in the section for Refunds
and Adjustments.
If the seller has already shipped the order or does not respond to
your request, we suggest that when the package arrives, you refuse
the delivery, or arrange for a return shipment by a trackable
method. Let your seller know that you have sent a return and allow
enough time for its arrival.
In either case, if your seller is unclear how to initiate the refund
process, you may want to send them this link:

Well it looks like Amazon did suggest refusal of the order, unless he has edited the email himself.
He did not let me know know 2 days later though and that is only because I told him it was at his local sorting office.0 -

oh ok, i just thought if i stopped replying he might think i wasn't going to refund or that i was ignoring him etc
i won't reply to the above email then and will just see what happens
i am just concerned that the item is still my responsibility if it goes missing now as he refused the delivery rather than returning it himself
i have no proof that it was delivered, the tracking number says its waiting for collection at his local sorting office0 -

At least Royal Mail only keep recorded delivery items for 1 week before returning to the sender, so you won't have to wait too long to sort this one out.
If it gets 'lost' on its way back to you I would be really tempted to suggest he puts in an A-Z Claim, you are able to provide a tracking number in your defence and Amazon can therefore refund him directly. If Amazon recharge you then you can put in a claim with Royal Mail.
Good luck with this one - sounds like a real nightmare.

thank you, yes it is a complete nightmare and has been very stressful! i have been having a few problems with ebay this week too! before that i have not really had any major problems for a while.
if he has refused delivery will it be sent straight back to me or would it stay at the sorting office for a week first?
i had 2 recorded delivery items "go missing" in the same week a few years ago. both were not delivered to people, gone back to sorting office, never collected and both took approx 3 weeks to be returned iirc. very annoying as i asked buyers to check with their sorting office, they said nothing there and i gave full refunds including postage. then i received them both back so lost out on the postage costs
if i did get to the stage of a royal mail claim, would i not need the buyers cooperation to confirm to them that item had not been delivered?0
