Fresh British Diced Chicken Breast 400g, down from £4 to £2 (ends Sunday 22nd)
Tate & Lyle 1Kg Granulated Sugar, down from 98p to 87p

To MrS today for a few bits so total now at £119.30/£200 - coming in on target now looks achievable.

Just doing my menu plan/shopping list for the weekend shop now, cupboards are reasonably well stocked so all looking positive.

Have OH's birthday next week so that will bump up the bill a bit. Still stuck for ideas on what to do tho. It's on the opening day of the Olympics so wanted to do something themed but haven't had any bright menu ideas yet.
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.

Had my first ever filling today. I am needle-phobic. I had tears pouring down my face going into my ears while he did the injection, nearly had a panic attack my breathing got so bad, and gripped the arms of the chair so hard I may have broken them! In the end, the nurse started stroking my arm - this always seems to happen to me when needles are involved! I went back to work after, to pick up the children, and asked the school secretary for a hug, as I have no-one at home! The cutest thing was, one of the girls in my class saw that I was a bit nervous, and gave me advice (she's 7!), and then told me I'd get a sticker afterwards!! I made sure I asked for one, so I can tell her she helped me!

I know that had nothing to do with the gc, but had to say it.

Oh dear PG- sending millions of hugs - you sound like you need a few! :grouphug: Hope you're feeling better now.
(And, I said on my dfd, that I claimed for 91 hours of overtime, which will be paid on 23rd Aug, just before we go away!:j)

I didn't know that teachers could claim overtime - well done :T

How do I subscribe to the thread so I can check it more easily, I'm addicted, constantly checking in... ?!

Hi SusanP - go to the top of the page, and click 'thread tools' then 'subscribe to this thread', then when you log in, click on your user CP and all your subscribed threads will come up on the page. Also if you 'thank' everyone as you go, it's easier to see where you're up to. HTH :)

Today I popped into MrA for Yorkshire teabags on special, but they were sold out  Bought some icing sugar and some knitting/crochet magazines to take away ;) but they're not out of GC money.

Hope everyone has had a good day. I had £7.05 left out of this weeks budget, so I nipped to Mr T's for some skimmed milk powder (for the BM) and some bananas. Whilst I was there I was feeling brave knowing that I had used my first home printed coupon for Greens, and printed off 3 more this morning, I now have a lovely collection. Will do some more for each time I go seeing as they are valid until December.

I have baked some lovely bread today and made some yummy scrummy bread pudding with the scrap ends of bread I have been saving. I have also got a bit pot of an old ww recipe called Boston Baked Beans in the oven -mmmm Although not doing ww, we love £2.60

    Make it 3,
Don't feel inadequate. I make plenty of blunders!
I can give you a very recent example...
I made a wild cherry jelly but left it on too long. It set so hard that it would stick your teeth together if you dared try it. :rotfl:
I have managed to finally get it out of the jar and have reheated it but with added water. It seems to be a better consistency but I will see when it goes cold.
I am not going to bottle this one up now but make a WHOPPING batch of jam tarts until it is all used up. I will then try freezing the surplus tarts (anyone ever tried freezing jam tarts?).
That will be on my to do list for tonight now though.
I always froze jam tarts back in the days of baking huge quantities.

I went away last Thursday and came home on Monday. Had a great weekend in Doncaster - spent loads on craft goodies. I justify this by selling on Ebay plus not smoking/drinking/gambling or having a car.
Managed the 20 NSD in July. Total for July GC - £62.50. Works out over five months average - £54 so pleased.
Got some chicken out of the freezer for tonight's dinner.
