What a load of crap!!
Was that it then??
Where were the Red Arrows???????????????????????/
For the 1st day of this "hysteria"- did you feel proud to be British??
You obviously weren't paying attention - they were grounded due to bad cloud and unsuitable weather conditions.
NO - it makes me prouder to be WELSH !!
Never mind it won't be much longer then the torch flame, football and Olympics will take over and drag on a lot longer.
Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

well I was going to watch it but only managed the first 30 miins and the last bit and it certainly looked as if it was a little boring but I wasn't too sure if the weather played a major part in that
I've often wondered what Matt Baker has on the person who employs presenters for such events as he is the worst commentator I have ever had the misfortune to listen to; if you don't believe me just listen to his contribution to gymnastic coverage as anything technical is made by his co-presenters.2014 Target;

Boring load of carp. HM must have been bored stiff as well as frozen stiff and slightly damp. I can understand a show of tall ships,war ships etc but not a load of old tugs and grotty plastic cabin cruisers. News commentators scraping the barrel for comments and conversation...and HM on a tarted up old barge instead of the RY Britannia. Whoever had this bright idea i say..orrff with his head.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Well, as Boots has moved to S. France/Spain (don't remember which) and has openly said how much she hates the way Britain is now, yet still wants to claim benefits from the UK, I'm guessing that this is a troll post.0 -
I totally agree. What a load of pomp and ceremony.
It's a p1ss take on the hard working people of this country who are struggling - who is paying for this concert and the free hampers they are giving out?
What does the Royal Family actually DO anyway? Apart from show their faces at occasions and the odd bit of charity work - none of um actually earn a living from what I see.
This nation are a laughing stock. People are going to bed hungry, but hey as long as the queen gets a concert then all is well??
I am not proud to be English at all. Its an embarrasment. We do not NEED a royal family.The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
We do not NEED a royal family.
I'm not a Royalist either, but I do think they bring in a lot of revenue, especially from the US. You know, those Americans who wanted independence from a royalist state, yet come flocking over to see Her Maj and all her glory.
Also, I think she has a tough job. She has to visit countries and leaders that she may despise and basically has to give the government (whichever one is in power) her approval. She has no power herself, really.
I wouldn't want to do her job. Would you?0 -
The one question that Republicans seem to avoid answering is if we didn't have a Queen / King as a Head of State what would they like in its place.
The only thing that I could think of are politicians who would happily sell their souls to the highest bidder2014 Target;

I found it really boring, and what on earth was that thing about not providing a shelter for the singers? The world is treated to the spectacle of these people, sopping wet, valiantly singing for a prolonged period in the rain, whilst the royals watch from their shelter.0

I enjoyed it, I attended a Royal Pagent a few years ago in London, and by design there is a lot of waiting around but its par for the course. I thought the Queen's boat looked a bit oriental though, maybe tone down the gold?
The royal family bring in a fortune every year to this country and the Queen has doe a sterling job for sixty years, who are we to deny her a bit of a bash? Its a shame about the red arrows but to fly in those condidtions would have been pure folly and I'm sure they were absolutely gutted too
Have to give a special mention to the horse ( was it the National theatre who created it?) thought it was brill
