Soooo ill!
Been off work for two days now. Could barely make it to the kitchen yesterday although feel like i'm getting better now.
Did manage to overpay £406 on the 18th, also have bought and wrapped all my christmas presents now!
Got a bill i'd forgotten about in the post. The annual ground rent of £125 which i've just had to pay. Running your own place is so expensive and not great when it's so close to Christmas too. Good job i have a £500 emergency fund for unexpected events!
Found out i got £30 a month for the sharesave, no scaleback! That's £1800 in 5 years assuming no profit is made.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

Have been desperate for a rug in my bedroom for a long time now. I had a really bare space at the bottom of my bed before the opposite wall that was just bare carpet and fancied a nice fluffy rug to go there.
I've been trying to keep my eyes out for ages but not found anything i liked UNTIL...i went on the Christmas markets and fell in love with a reindeer rug!!
Bought one as a christmas present to myself and it's gorgeous.
Google research suggests it may molt so i have the hoover ready incase but it does fit so well in my little space!
Love it so much!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

Managed to overpay £88 from the interest accumulated in my ISA since April! Added it to the overpayment pot. I'm not far off the £5000 mark for 2012. (£4738). I have one final standard overpayment of £106 coming up later in the month when I get paid but don't think I'll be able to afford much more than that. Still this is my first year of overpayments (Jan-Dec) so I'm still very pleased! MSE is such a great site and has really helped me be successful! Hopefully by May next year I'll have paid off £10k in the space of two years of having my mortgage!
I'm glad overpaying was suggested by my dad when I first took it out otherwise I may not have ever ventured into this sub forum!
Next year I'm not going abroad as yet (this year I booked 4 holidays, 3 abroad) so should be a less expensive year (although I'm going Glastonbury and Cornwall)
It's definitely been an expensive month though, Christmas does that!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

That's brilliant Southernman, hope you get to your £5,000 overpayment target.

Great progress Southernman, well done :j.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Money is tight this month. I got paid on the 16th Nov and it was bonus month. Since then i have bought all my christmas presents, overpaid my mortgage with an extra £300, put some money into savings, bought some euros, spent £100 at the wholesaler, been on quite a few meals and i have to put money aside to do my hair, my roots are vile and i want my hair looking nice for christmas, i've not been since JULY yikes.
I'm away with my mum and Aunty to the Belgium Christmas markets this coming weekend which will be nice.
Was hoping for a quiet weekend the one after but it's my work's christmas night out sooo no such luck!
December 18th, i need you to get here!!
At this rate any euros i don't spend in Belgium i may need to exchange!
(i may be being overdramatic here but i HATE dipping into my savings)

So much has happened!
I went away with my mum and aunty to the christmas markets in Belgium. To say it was wonderful and magical is a hugggggeeee understatement. The Valkenburg christmas markets were set in caves (no less) and it was just truely wonderful. I bought some little goodies (choccies and choc liqueur) and we went to saturday morning market in Oostende and my gosh there were some bargains to be had! I got some gloves (Vivienne Westwood style but super fake) for 5 euros (£4) and a fake fur leopard print coat for 20 euro (£16). It's just above the knee and when i googled the brand i found out it was designer and sold t shirts for 40 euros alone!
I came back with 140 euros so not sure if i should keep hold of them as i got them at a rate of 1.23. We're talking around £116 ish.
In other news i'm doing overtime on Saturday so that should bring in about £80 after tax and student loan etc. Everything is so hectic in work at the moment i don't even have time to breathe! We had about 20 people queuing over the phone lines and considering we had 35 taking calls, this was EXTREMELY hectic. Not once all day did the evil red light stop flashing. I wouldn't mind but we've had extra staff on to help with demand. There i was thinking we'd have a quiet lead up to Christmas!
My Christmas meal tomorrow and Secret Santa! I'm in a very festive mood!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

I went to the doctor this morning because of my periods starting again after being on the pill and not having one for 2.5 years just to check everything was ok and turns out i have polycystic ovaries after some scans/ultrasounds were done.
I'm not going to lie, i got a bit upset because i know it effects fertility. The gp said i shouldn't worry because it won't effect having babies BUT I KNOW IT DOES and wikipedia even confirmed it.
My friend at work is the same age as me and has it so we were discussing it today but neither of us are at the conceiving age and i want to know how hard it is to get pregnant in the future. I want babies one day but i have a feeling this is going to make things more difficult.
It sounds daft but it has worried me a bit. I'm feeling a bit frightened. It's follicles on the ovaries and i'm not sure if they can go away or if they stay forever.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
