A lot has changed in the last year.
I will have by December 2014 paid £20k off my mortgage in the space of 3.5 years. This is brilliant news and I hope to achieve my aim of hitting £60k mortgage debt by the time my fixed ends in April 2016!
My boyfriend has just put an offer in on a house himself as a first time buyer meaning between us we'll have £175k worth of mortgage debt yikes! Quite scary thinking of it in that respect but I will be helping him along on the overpayment bandwagon.
The boyfriend I have now is very different to the one I had a year ago- it's interesting how things can change in a short space of time but I'm very happy.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
So further to my exciting news, I found out that I will be starting a new job in October! I will have a mini pay rise of £30 which will just go straight on the mortgage and the working hours are just standard 9-5. We were told recently that in my current role our shifts would change to 2 Saturdays in every 3 which is a heck of a lot when you have an active social life! I'm excited to be in a position where I can challenge myself so I'm looking forward to it.
This week alone I have worked 3 12-8s, a 9:30-5:30 today and an 8-4 tomorrow (Saturday) - just no consistency and the odd sporadic hours leave me SHATTERED
In other news I recently overpaid my mortgage by £2k which meant that it has recalculated the monthly figure. I will now be overpaying £140 a month as standard (or £170 with mini pay rise) which is exciting. A far cry from the £50 a.month when I first started out.
I had my tarot card read and she said to expect 3 celebrations and whilst it's just a bit of fun to me so far a house, a job- I wonder what number 3 will be!!!!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200
