    Hey OP
first of all- congratulations: the most important things is that you recognise that the negativity is coming from others and is not justified.
I have gone through my fair share of disasters and events that meant I shouldn't be a well- adjusted individual. However, I am, and try to make the best of what comes my way. Like you, I had people around (so-called friends) that at some point all they contributed to the friendship was : "I can't be bothered', " I don't know why you bothered', "With our luck, it won't happen", "Men/bosses/jobs/boyfriends are all out to make you miserable" Etc, etc ad nauseam.

Like others said, it is in your hand to to whatever you have to do to make your life better and you are doing it. Surround yourself with positive people that encourage and support you in whatever your do, who have good, honest advise for you should you need it. Avoid people that just drag you down, including family (I know, easier said than done)- A 'well, everytime we meet you just are so negative that it started to get me down and actually, I am full of plans and optimistic about the future, so I don't really feel like hearing all the negativity' should be enough as an explanation if anyone asks. Every day, take a few minutes to think about what you want to achieve, imagine it, feel it ... and say to yourself that you deserve it and will get it, sooner or later.

Beware of what I call 'emotional vampires'- all they do is to project their shortcomings on others because they can't face their own.

Keep going, you are on the right path...
