Hi Folks
I wonder if any of you can help
A truck belonging to a food delivery company called "3663" in london hit my parked motorcycle while reversing and took off from the scene without leaving their details
check out the CCTV footage here on youtube
http://youtu.be/MddZ5It75J0
Unfortunately the license plate is not visible. I've been asking around in nearby buildings and one of them confirmed the license plate as
XX08 CGV - now they are not sure about the first two letters of the license plate and this is where you can probably help me - for "08" plates, what are all the possibilites of the first two letters that are valid as per UK license plate system, I'm trying to eliminate the invalid options from the grand total possibilities of (26*26=676) before I go on further into this search into the void . Thanks
Karthik

wiki has a good list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom it'll keep you busy for a while typing all the options into the autotrader website. Hope you find him. 3663 should have tracking on their vehicles, I'd be tempted to pursue the company directly if you can't identify the vehicle, and let them sort it.0

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom
The first letter only has a few options, the second has lots.
Is there a better shot of the reg plate? Youtubes transcoding never gives good image quality0 -

Crazy idea, but why not call 3663 and give them the address details and a link to the footage? They will know their vehicles were delivering.

That was my first thought when I read the OP. I'd call the police for the hit and run then the delivery company to put a claim in.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hope you get it sorted,0

3663 is a well known wholesale food supplier. Given that the OP has video footage of one of their delivery trucks flattening his motor bike, I don't think it matters that much if the plates aren't visible. I think the video footage in itself is sufficient to establish liability.0 -

mcjordi - Wel done!
OP, hope you are able to make a successful claim, even without the reg no however, I would have thought you had enogh evidence to establish liability.
Let us know what happens.

Thank you all for your replies and your efforts in trying to help, it's greatly appreciated.
I'm yet to checkout the flickr pic as my office network has a firewall flickr.
I'm in touch with 3663 and so far they have been helpful but super slow and are still investigating for the past 2.5 days, wonder how many trucks they have got working the london area !!. They have passed the incident details onto their insurers who are yet to get in touch with me though. My insurers are not interested without the reg plate details of the truck (TheAA underwritten by AXA), as I only have third party fire and theft cover.
Keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully it will be sorted soon, will pass on the flickr information to 3663. My deepest worry now is by how much my next year's cover is going to be jacked up although this is totally not my fault
Btw, what do call this - Accident or Incident ?0
