Hi all. Anyone got any ideas how I can use up golden syrup please??? ibought a few in when it was 2 for £1 and they had the money off coupons on (so the shops were effectively giving it away!!!) but now... Any ideas please??? weould be very much appreciated.

Just read that you are going into hospital the first week in March. I hope it goes well and I wish you a speedy recovery.

    Take care

Well, I'd better confess to a massive overspend! Well in reality I way underestimated what I would spend and how I like to have full cupboards. I did want to live out the freezers/cupboards and just get fruit and veg - but hey ho! Can I put my final spend as £110. I will put myself down as £80 for the March Challenge. I'm going into hospital the first week in March and then will spend time recouperating at my mum and dads - so should really come under budget :rotfl: .

Have to stock pile a bit more cat food for when I'm away  .

Thanks for all the ideas and I find meal planning really helpful for using stuff up in the freezer and stopping me buying things all the time (god knows what my spend would've been this month had I not been trying to be good!)
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

You can make Twinks hobnobs (the recipe is here :j ). We have golden syrup on EVERYTHING in our house, pancakes, weetabix, porridge. I'm sure my youngest son would bathe in it if he could :D .

Not the GC budget - I managed another no spend day today - but my oven! The main element has gone I think as there was a white flame and some sparks from the back. I switch it off and then on again but the main oven didn't heat up. Fortunately the top oven appears to be working but it is much slower as it doesn't have a fan. The oven was 5 years old last November - I think they build them with an expiry date on purpose! I suppose I will have to get a new one unless I can get it repaired for less - and no I didn't take out extended warranty as I thought they were rip-offs! Grr!

Sympathies Moniker, same thing happened to me earlier this month-hate to say mine was £98 for a new element to be fitted! Mine to was 5 years old. AAh well had to be done but had just paid to have some taps replaced-good old s%$ law.

Moniker, the amount you have saved on extended warranty over the 4 years would probably have paid for a new one? I know they wanted £90 a year for extended on mine.

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/ might help might not

Consider offering it on freecycle or dontdumpthat if you don't get it fixed and replace it, still might be of use to someone. Saves taking it or paying for it to be collected too. Door came apart on mine (DP said I cleaned it too much) was just over a year old but someone collected it when I replaced it. Wish I haddn't now because next house had a built in one so used it for all of a month!

lainz good luck from me too, hope it goes well
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi,

In our store, they are in the fridge aisle with the bacon etc.

Might just ask the store manager about it?
