Ok so new month starts on wednesday for me and I've placed a tesco order for delivery tomorrow which will take me way over budget. I've ordered £69 worth, so I'm going to include £20 on this month and the rest in next months. So well done to me for being under budget this month.
Going to see if I can stick to the £120 mark for march.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Hi mrssnowy
Leek and potato soup sounds great, I love that soup. Could you please let me know how you do yours?
Thanks
Have a nice Sunday.
Becky
I'm a wee bit behind but my leek and potato (recipe from some kind soul on here is )
3 leeks softened in a little butter
Add 2 apple sized potatoes and 1/2 veg stock cubes to a pint of boiling water. Season. Simmer to 15/20 mins and blitz with my hand blender.
Double up if you want more soup.
Made this yesterday for lunch and it's lovely.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

There are many so called around, mainly to make their authors "Loads of money" and none of them seem to be satisfactory in the long term. If you are having a balanced diet with reasonable portions then IMHO that is sufficient to keep a person trim and healthy. Exercise helps too, but not if one overdoes it. So keep doing what you are doing because for you, you are doing something right..
We've run out of cabbage and broccoliso will have to get some tomorrw as not needed for tonights din-din. Gotta go now as lunch is calling.

Went to the large Co-op to get the desperately needed milk. Had a quick scan around the reduced sections but there was nothing worth having apart from some fresh cream chocolate eclairs!! I resisted though, so the only thing I bought was the milk!
Hoping for more NSD's until Thursday.
Baked potatoes with various leftover fillings this evening and a massive ironing pile to look forward to!

I've spent another £3.90 today. But hopefully, that will be it until the end of the week/ month.
Will declare my total on Friday.
EgonI wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
Just reporting in the final total for the month - £92.04
Was a £100 budget so I'm quite pleased with my efforts although February doesn't finish until Friday this week I think I have everything covered until then so no more spends.
Please put me down for £100 again for March Mrs M!0 -
Been grocery shopping today so the damage is
Co-op - 6.86 (Eco dish wash tabs 1.49/20) plus some other bogof bits
S/field - 9.10 (3 x 12 pk recycled loo roll @ 2.45, jam bogof 1.18) yellow label bits to get my £2 parking fee back.
Sains - 35.57 not bad as I haven't been there for 3 weeks
Lidl - 4.49 bits which are cheaper than Sains etc.
So my total to date is £201.40 which is over but i have spent £33.72 which is towards future bills.
Will have to spend £10 on Wed for my organic box but shouldn't need anything else for the rest of the week.
So I'll declare LIL-ME £211.40 (177.36) as my total for Feb.
MRS MC please put me down for £160 for March

Dear All,
How inspiring! I would like to become a late addition to this challenge, and start posting in March's thread. There is just 'Lil ole me and a cat in the household, but I honestly have no idea what my spend is on groceries and household essentials each month. I thought I would start with a basic spend of £40 per week, so as March is a 4 week month (from payday to payday) I will set a budget of £160. It seems a bit high, but at least I have a chance of achieving it (I hope)!
See you all in March - Well done all, and Good Luck....:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -

Not the GC budget - I managed another no spend day today - but my oven! The main element has gone I think as there was a white flame and some sparks from the back. I switch it off and then on again but the main oven didn't heat up. Fortunately the top oven appears to be working but it is much slower as it doesn't have a fan. The oven was 5 years old last November - I think they build them with an expiry date on purpose! I suppose I will have to get a new one unless I can get it repaired for less - and no I didn't take out extended warranty as I thought they were rip-offs! Grr!0
