Just been to sort out cash/bills etc and got another  tray of eggs, so thats £3 added to my grocery spend, also from farm shop got a sack of Desiree £5.50. Maris Piper were £6.50 but they had sold out. I can't justify £17 for a sack of organic.

Can't believe how many eggs we are getting through.

Have made 2 quiches ( I know eggs) for dinner tonight and tomorrow as we are going to Grimsby Town footie match (free tickets), so want something to come back to.

DS2 has a friend sleeping over tonight so they will have kid food and myself and DH will quiche.

I'll also do jacket potatoes in the slow cooker tomorrow morning so we can have those before we go to the match, these can be cooking whilst DS2 at footie training and DH at work.

    Have updated signature.

    Hi all,
i`m getting a little bit fed up now - well a lot fed up actually.

My asda delivery slot was between 10 am and 12 o`clock and it`s still not arrived.
I rang the helpline at ten to one and was told that they hadn`t been notified of any delays by the store and that someone should have rung to let me know what was happening. The lady was going to ring the store and get someone to ring me but NO ONE HAS YET and it`s knocking on for 2pm now.
She did say that i would get a voucher for £5 off but i want to wash the kitchen floor and do a few other cleaning bits in there before going out and at this rate i can`t see me doing either.
i`m off to seethe quietly for a while

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Afternoon all :)

Went to Asda this morning, spent £35 on i dont know what :o Committed the big sin of going shopping without a list  plus i hadn't gotten around to making a meal plan yet so i was just wandering around aimlessly really :rotfl:

I bought a huge pizza from the counter for £1.19 instead of £3.19 so we'll have that for tea as i know i wont feel like cooking when i get back from aquanatal. Then i got a chicken pie down to £1.34 from £2.58 so thats gone in the freezer for next week. Also some other bits and pieces that i can't remember - oh yeah, sausage rolls, ham, yoghurts, cereal bars etc so DD can have picnic style dinners next week whilst shes on half term.

So that brings me to £113??? I think so far (will check in a min, cannot add up in my head!)

Have a good day all :)

    Ta-Da!!!!

It`s arrived and i`ve put it all away:j
I rang cs again as i had two items with todays and tomorrows date on which i wasn`t happy with and they refunded the price, although they were only cheap items i still felt the need to call as next time they should get it right.
Altogether it has added up to £54.01 which leaves me well under budget and i have the dog food to split over the next few weeks which i don`t really need to do now as if i add most of the cost to this weeks budget to take me up to this months total of £160 then i only need to carry over £3.02.
I am happy now so Asda will get my custom again:D

I did however manage to order double the amount of onions OOPS
and i now have 4kg and some left over from last week
anyone have a decent recipe for onion soup or something else i can make to use them up?
Also the huge bag of smartprice pears with todays date on as looking at them they will not last at all and need using pdq or they will end up in the bin.

*goes off to clean kitchen with a happy grin*

    SD

PS i`m going to try for £15 for next week as an odd week before starting the March GC i know this will mess up my paydays again but if i`m not careful i will be doing June`s challenge in May :D
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Hi,
Just been to Asda to do the weekly shop - I try to do this on Friday/Saturday morniung so there's yummy stuff in for the weekend.
Managed to spend £31.39 (with just a few deviations from the list) - not too bad as there's enough food for at least a week and I had to buy toiletries and some cleanng stuff.

My running total is now £72.66 (out of £100) with 2 weeks left (one of which is already bought for).
Fingers crossed it'll just about be OK this month - only due, mind you, to writing menu plans and shopping lists.

Some good news - I got £1100 bonus this month :j (got paid today) - I was expecting a few hundred pounds extra but didn't realise that my sales were quite as good as that! Am well chuffed - have decided to go out for dinner tomorrow evening with OH and then have a boozy night in the pub, pay a wodge off my credit card and wipe out my small OD with it, leaving a little bit for extras/treats this month.

The net bonus is due in May - here's hoping for a repeat performance!!

excellent! :D i do hope they lose (i support Brentford who are just below them in the league, only i pay for my tickets... i convince myself i'm moneysaving with it as it keeps me out of the shops... hmmm...) - but they'll probably win, as Dagenham are really shocking at the moment.

hope you have a good time anyway. :D
Trying to be good, not always succeeding. :A:beer:
  • Gosh this is harder than I thought! DH called today, he had managed to pick up 10 packs of butter on bogof so that was another £5.50 added to my total:eek: . When I started this I knew I had spent roughly £287 in January, so I thought that aiming for £250 in February was achievable!!! I must have been using up some amount of leftovers in January is all I can say. To be fair this month I have bought a shed load of cereal on bogof, and loads of bagels, butter now too. I guess our meals for the last week in the month will consist of cereal and bagels:o .
I did debate using a seperate budget for bogofs like someone suggested, a very good idea. The only thing against it is i always see something on offer that I use, I do tend to stockpile it then, but it eventually evens out.
I'm off to go on that fab food waste site someone reccomended to get some ideas, do tinned tomatoes and ready brek work!!!:rotfl:

Had to get some potatoes and loo roll today, was hoping it would be another NSD, but alas...it was not meant to be.
Still we managed to get 4 toilet roll, Charmin, for £1.49 & BOGOF:j
11lb loose potatoes, £1.65. We bought some last week and they were fab, really tasty!:D
I dont think I need to do anymore food shopping for this week, and hope to spend very little next week.;)
