Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

I've been to Mr T's this afternoon for this week's "top up". It was a bit bigger than usual as I had to buy the meat for Sunday. Total spend £20.23 (but that included a sneaky bottle of wine
)
Also included was a set of heart shaped cookie cutters reduced to 50p, so I've just made some heart shaped "Jammie Dodger" type biscuits for after tea (awwww, bless!)
That leaves me about £50 between now and the end of the month.....hmmmmmm, a little bit tight but I may just about manage it. Fingers crossed!

I used to do pasta for them and i think i`ll have another go at it, i stopped when madam kept spitting it out all over the radiators and trying to pick the other bits out i used to find it in my shoes and in the weirdest places.

At the end of the day you save money and that food is not wasted like so much is by supermarkets.
Keep up the good work. What are you going to do with all your savings?

Hi Looby Lou!
I used to have the same problem. But not any longer! I now lock away my handbag together with my purse in my office drawer so I cannot be tempted to spend.
Good luck with saving money.

Am currently avoiding looking at the receipts on the desk! I will be over budge this month - but I think I was a little ambitious for my first attempt :rotfl: . It is helping to cure my hoarding tendency and I have put many items back when I've ventured into the supermarkets.:A
One question I have to ask, I've noticed I've been like this for a while now, but when I'm in the supermarket I will sometimes be tempted to look at the ready meals I get a little voice in my head that says, I could make it much cheaper and healther at home! Does anyone else get this? I say that as I don't know if any of you remember a character they had on Goodness Gracious Me who could make anything as long as she had 'a small aubergine'..:rotfl:0 -
Well I have changed a few ready made items on my March Shopping List thanks to the recipe ideas given by a few wonderful people.
Hopefully they will work out healthier and cheaper too.
Go for it!:cool: Frugal Living 2010 member MFW by 2014 Was 88,000 now £46,877.90 Grocery Budget for Dec-April=£173.72/£244 (Groc Budget 2010 from Ebay/Voucher savings/Quidco -If we can do it will save our £980 GC budget) Now living the dream -in our tiny country cottage-all thanks to MS forums. x 39 2 go
