    Again, it's a wind up.

DEFFO! I think upwards of 95% of us gathered that, good luck to him, made me chuckle. :rotfl:

I dont think it is a wind up.. I remember reading some time ago that he had been
unemployed for ages, and im sure hes mentioned multiple times that hes volunteered
for years, and as someone else pointed out that he could live 3 or 4 quid a week for
    food..

Its either a long running troll or its genuine, im going to go for the latter.

But why be happy with a 5 hour cleaning job after 20 years unemployment is beyond
me, its like saying my diet target to lose 10 stone is going well, ive lost an ounce.
  • I'm with you dude! All my life I wanted to be the Massage Boy for the Hawian Tropics Bikini Girls but alas, I have also been unemployed in this area since I left school 16 years ago :(.... it's a tough world but i'll keep on applying ;)

ha ha ha and this comes from the lady who brands a large number of people who doubted the authenticity of this thread as "idiots" and also accused one poster as sending "nasty" comments (interestingly, nobody agreed with you on this!).

I would recommend you look more closely at yourself rather than others & quit trying to pick fights with people.

Linda D ......" I can't believe some of the down right nasty replies on this thread, shame on you people. The guy gets a job and wants to share his joy with the forum while giving a bit of hope to others in his position. Then he gets attacked, unbelievable.

Congratulations Dave on your new job, I hope it will go well for you:T:beer::jYou're a lot better person than some of the idiots on this thread.".............

HOWEVER, here "charitable nature" is far from universal, you're not surprised I went bankrupt then? Ha ha ha you've betrayed yourself with that one, just as you did when you branded people idiots. The varying reasons for bankruptcy are almost infinite so to apply them to somebody's attitude is lame and hollow. :rotfl:

A great many people quite simply don't believe that a 1st class engineering degreed graduate in the industrialised, boom time for a large period of the last 20 yrs, West Midlands has had no job for 20yrs. Let alone beat 200 people, including CLEANERS to a cleaning 5hr cleaning job! That's our perogative & we don't need to go around dishing out insults when we make it either, unlike yourself.

You are in no position to critisise a guy who has tried really hard and managed to get himself a job when you're unemployed yourself as well as coming over as very unemployable too with your bad attitude.
  • It's a troll. I didn't even need to read past the first page to work that one out..!

It's good to see the OP has finally found an employer who recognises his special skills and capacity. Sounds like a match made in heaven

Hmmm. I can't help feeling you should know better, based on your signature. You might know that many people with Aspergers struggle to find or keep jobs. They may have excellent qualifications, but those who do manage to get a job often end up in jobs not matching their skill level.

The OP has not stated they have an ASD, but it could well be a possibility. Many people have AS without realising. Even Gary McKinnon was only diagnosed, aged 42, when he came to the attention of the media after his crimes, and an expert on the condition saw him on TV.

Sorry, just felt the need to say that as someone with an ASD who has spent quite a long time struggling to find any employment.
Wanted a job, now have one.
  • Hi everyone, I've just come to the end of my temporary contract and it was a great experience in which the employers have highly praised my work ethic and performance. It is wonderful to be able to add some paid work experience to my CV.

I'd like to thank all the people who have supported me in this thread, it has restored my faith in humanity to read that some people do care in others :)
Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.
  • Glad you enjoyed it Dave but don't lose the momentum now, if it was a temporary position hopefully you registered with the agency/provider and if you got good feedback you'll get more work from them.

If you knew then what you know now, maybe you'd have left the country with a degree that good and worked abroad but that's life. See what happens when things get better, in the meantime get back out there and start hunting down more paid work.
