George went up from 11.23 to 23.21 per month
Phoebe went up from 8.50 do 12.66 per month
Fred went up from 11.22 to 19.92 per month
Fiona went up from 8.50 to 12.60 per month
Teddy went up from 12.10 to 20.70 per month

Total between the 5 went up from 51.54 per month to 89.09 per month :eek::eek:

All previous things are covered by the "new" policy so that is a relief.

Just dreading Zara's reneval and Macius' reneval - Zara is October and Macius not exactly sure but I think NOvember.

Yes, ostcode plays part in the price as apparently vets in various parts of the country charge various prices and that is reflected in the insurance premiums....

    :(

Have just had my renewal from MoreThan and it has gone up to £13.84 per month from £11.37, even though we haven't made a claim.

I checked some comparison sites and couldn't find anything better, so have decided to stay put.

Sadly this policy doesn't cover his pre-existing condition, but previous insurer went belly up for a while, but I see has now resurfaced (Petguard).

The way things are going I think it will be more and more difficult to find affordable pet insurance.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

  • mmmmm I do realise there are annual increases but it doesn't really add up IMHO

Figures are rounded to the next %
George went up from 11.23 to 23.21 per month +107%
Phoebe went up from 8.50 do 12.66 per month +49%
Fred went up from 11.22 to 19.92 per month +78%
Fiona went up from 8.50 to 12.60 per month +49%
Teddy went up from 12.10 to 20.70 per month +71%

Total between the 5 went up from 51.54 per month to 89.09 per month :eek: +74%

Personally, I think that's totally unreasonable and - if it was me - I'd be moving the ones I could to another insurer ..... what if they do this every year:eek:

There should at least be a logic as to how much the policies go up ie +xx% - so both Fred & Teddy should have the same increase - but they don't

That's around 22% - still a fair bit but an awful lot better than the near 50% for the girls and over 70% on the boys that GRs been stung with.

Teddy i 6 yo , Fredd is under 2 yo - so different age.

Still Phoebe and Fiona are the same age, no claims and still 6 p (still) difference between those 2.

Checked for other online quotes for the same cover and they give me very similar amounts... sigh....

I know there are cheaper policies but those offer much less cover so not looking at those.

Need a min 7k cover, life cover.

Living in London IS expensive :(
  • I know all review centres tend to have reviews from people who've either had fantastic or terrible service so always try to remember this when reading but

I have today received my renewal from Argos for insurance for our GSD Purdy now 6 years old. My monthly payments are increasing by 105% from £24.65 to £50.55. Their letter says and I quote "Argos is working to keep down the cost of your insurance......" WHAT???? We are being ripped off and can do nothing about it. I went onto Compare website and found nothing cheaper!!

That is the problem, can not find anthing cheaper for the same cover...
  • Yup but there are others who don't have such hikes each year which - if I was in your position - is what I would be worried about for future years.

I claimed off PP for 8 years running (and into the £000s each year due to a lifelong condition) and my premiums never went up by more than a reasonable amount each year - it was usually around £2 or £3 / month more and even once he was over 10, it was certainly less than £5 / month more

    Fred was quoted 20.09
    Teddy was quoted 21.71

So only 1.18 more thn Argos, the same 7k cover...

BUt the excess is 105, for Teddy and 85 for Fred with Argos it is 65... that is big difference here

those were pet plan quotes, did not check the girls with them....will do so when I have another nap.. really too tired to think straight
