No Buying Unnecessary toiletries in June
Comments
-
Hi everyone, not been around this month because of moving and starting the new job but have a whole bunch of UU to report:
-L'Oreal Everstrong Shampoo
-L'Oreal Everstrong Conditioner
-Simple Oil Balancing Facial Scrub
-L'oreal Exfotonic body scrub
-Avene Ystheal eye cream
-Boots Vitamin E SPF 15 eye cream
-Revlon Grow Luscious mascara
-Naked Starflower shower gel
Have bought replacements for all as there were none in the stash! I don't actually have a stash anymore to be honest! On the toiletry front anyway. Have I graduated then? Still have shed loads of makeup to contend with though but have managed to not buy anything makeup wise since 1 December 2011. That's almost 8 months!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Congrats on graduating re toiletries and congrats on not buying makeup this year0 -
Thank you SuiDreams! I seem to have lost all the drive to buy makeup now. I have no idea what happened but when I allowed myself to a treat when I got my new job, I wandered around for hours and couldn't find anything I wanted to buy. I think I'm all make-up'd out :OEmergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Ruby Eskimo - it sounds like you've graduated to me! VERY WELL DONE :j:beer: :T
Have you lost interest in buying make up because you've found your HG products, or have you just gone off it? (I still find make up really exciting/frustrating and have lots to use up...:o)
Dolly - I'm off to Boots to buy a big pack of my contact lens solution - boring but necessary and a great chance to get some points. (It's the first time I'll have been in a Boots since Christmas! I hope it isn't too overwhelming...)0 -

Thank you Willowbee! I have just gone off it I think :eek: I do have a few HG products (like TFSI, Nars Laguna bronzer, Mac P+P lip, Vichy dermablend powder to name but a few) but I wouldn't say I would buy everything all over again! I have lots to use up too (I've hit pan majorly on my bronzer and Mac Naked Lunch e/s) and hope to work my way through it before I attempt to buy any more!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
That's so interesting, Ruby Eskimo. I hope that I just go off make up as well! :rotfl: I've had a few HG products that have been discontinued and I find it really difficult to find a good pale base that doesn't clog pores, doesn't oxidise, isn't shiny and lasts properly. (I have lots of failed primers and foundations
). I don't think I'll buy any more eyeshadow or mascara, which is progress.
I'm hopeful that I might have found a successful new base (Bourjois Mineral Matte, bought in a sale for £2.99). I don't need any more blush as I have two or three favourites. I have more lippies/glosses than I can count but I might buy a single Dior Addict Extreme with my Advantage Points (as a birthday present
). It's really foundation/powder that is my weakness as that is what I'm least happy with...
I'm sure that cutting back on toiletry INS has helped make me more careful about buying make up but I definitely haven't stopped yet...:eek:0 -
Was that Season 4 with John Lithgow in? We've watched it from the beginning. In my opinion there has only been part of the Second Season that was a bit naff. I love the dark humour in it. Can't wait for the next season either. Just wonder what direction it's going to go in!
Just wanted also to say thanks to all those lovely ladies who mentioned my No Spend month. Here we are at day 19 and I still haven't bought anything.
Congrats to kiplingmonkey too who also has had a LBM re: the Q (or cosmetic spending in general).
Hmm I'm not sure, but I think so and then I went back and watched them all from the start!
Some of my friends at work have raved about Homeland but I really don't rate it in comparison to Dexter.
Sorry off topic I know! But I have no Ins so that is good!Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -

Wow - well done you :T:T:T:T. Being able to say "I don't actually have a stash" seems a long long way off for me at the moment but it is great to hear everyone else's success stories and a great reminder as to why we are all here in the first place. I just want to reclaim the space all my stuff is taking up and finally I seem to be making progress.0 -
think I must be a bit thick(no answers please!)I have just tried to add stuff to the wishlist on elfster but all i could do was search for the brand and add full size stuff which was not what I wanted to do!
I thought I could write what I liked but could not work lout how to do that either.....(old) women and technology:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
what I was trying to say was I love YSL lipstick especially the mini GWPs and all YSL perfume as it seems to be the only brand that stays on me for any time so samples most welcome!
off to look round an open garden tonight,fingers crossed that a/ it does not rain and b/ the mossies don't bite as they have driven me mad in my own garden this week:mad:0 -
