    Hi All,

I've a tiny IN today which is Benefit That Gal off Glamour freebie, couldn't find this one anywhere so bought it off Ebay, only cost me 99p extra so was quite happy with that. Think its mean though that people just buy them all to Ebay, if they don't want them they should leave them for others that do! That said they won't have made a profit off this one as the postage was £2.20 and they only charged £1 for that so by my reckoning they were around £1.50 out of pocket with that and Ebay/Paypal fees. :o There's still plenty of the mascara and POREfessional in a shop by me but no That Gal to start with, I think they must have been the lower percentage as well as the one that most people wanted.

Well ladies I'm very excited! :j My OH is taking me away for the weekend for my birthday, he's not very good at keeping secrets however and I think, unless I'm very much mistaken, that we're going to stay in the hotel where my sister got married last year in Southport. It is really lovely, they have a spa there, he has warned me I might have to take my clothes off! :rotfl: I presume he wasn't propositioning me :D and may have booked me a massage :T

    Ems x

I agree with you re: Ebayers selling on magazine freebies. I don't mind anyone making extra income on there but see this as a step too far. I wasn't interested in any of the Benefit freebies - have my HG primer and mascara by other brands - but had a quick nosey in Sainsbury's at them (for research purposes!!). Only saw 2 copies in all the time that they were released so had I been looking for one specifically you can bet I would have missed out too.

Have a lovely weekend. I love Southport. We used to go every year when I was a child. Used to love the haunted house on the mini fair ground and the model village. Lord Street is still very lovely.

I returned home today to find my flat has been flooded by upstairs :eek::eek:. I got in the door to find a plummer's card informing me that they had turned off my water!!! They didn't even bother to check upstairs. Anyway, I got a hold of my neighbour and recalled the plummer's and found the source - a faulty valve in the ensuite toilet systern. This means that since Thursday evening water has been pouring down that back of my neighbours ensuite and into my flat and the girl's downstairs (who alerted the factor). I have spent the day vaxing water out my bedroom carpet and emptying the dehumidifier. The water damage is extensive - my bedroom, ensuite, hall and living room have giant seepage marks with some water feature constantly dripping down. The walls and ceilings have paintwork hanging off them with some bubble texture. I am gutted _pale_. Called the insurance who will be in touch on Monday to follow up. The plummer reckons I won't have any trouble getting this sorted through them but I am just so upset about the damage and the ensuing disruption.

Oh no how awful for you. I worked in an office that was flooded once and dealing with the dehumidifiers and the smell afterwards is awful. I hope your Insurance Company do sort things out quickly for you.

Have now caught up with thread. No further UUs to report although some items are spluttering nicely. No INs either. I did like the look of the Yankee Candle TSV on QVC yesterday but managed to resist. Just don't have the spare cash for it - will go without my votives in the living room for now (will use tealights instead which I have in stock) although will probably have to replace my large candle in the hall this month. So it's Day 9 and I've still not bought anything - yay me. In fact, I've been so busy at work that I've been working through lunch so haven't gone out to spend any money!

Have signed up for the savvyme epilator trial. Wonder when we will hear whether we've been successful or not.

Have 4 watchers on one of my items on ebay. Let's hope some of them actually bid against each other.

Have a good weekend everyone. The weather's gonna be miserable though. x

Sorry about the flood damage, it is grim, but I hope that the insurers are really efficient, to help lessen the blow a little.

You are an early bird, even at a weekend. I rather liked the Yankee Candles TSV, ought to have bought 1 for a Christmas pressie really, but forgot to do it. I shall content myself with just buying a couple of samplers from local shop as and when I need any new ones. I am really doing a PRC thingy at the moment, in my stash has been, for many years a Jo Malone Black Vetyver candle, I bought in a CS at a time when I was skint and life was a bit blerghhh. It now sits proudly on mantel piece and I light it now and then to cheer myself up.

Have a good weekend everyone, we are due for a slightly better day weatherwise today (fingers crossed), I need to get winter woollies on and get out and tackle the weeds, which seem to love the wet:mad:

I know. It's my stupid body clock. I'll be shattered by 8.00pm! I'm the same as you re: YC candles. QVC seem to be having a TSV every couple of weeks now and the TSV prices are not so much reduced from the everyday price that I don't see the point in rushing to buy them.

Had just bobbed back online whilst I was repainting my nails. am wearing Mavala The Elle Grey. Was a freebie with Elle magazine. Still not enamoured about either the colour or formula.

VALM & Maddiemay - I'm glad that I didn't know about the YK TSV. It might have been my first Q purchase... (Don't let me go there :rotfl: Unless it's Elemis or L'Occitane and I've UU 100 things! :rotfl:) The grotty weather has put me in the mood for scented candles. I have a sampler pack of YK to go and root around in so that will have to keep me happy. (Maddiemay - the Jo Malone candle was a lovely find! :D )

I shouldn't be awake :( Because things have been so stressful here I've got in a muddle with my meds and have run out of one that I hoped wasn't as important. Really irresponsible (and unlike me). I now can't sleep properly (a long term struggle) prob due to withdrawal  Hopefully I can solve this on Monday...

On a happier note, I'm adding Aloe Vera to my HG list! My skin still feels a bit tight and itchy but all of the redness has gone. Thank you to someone here mentioning they use a thick layer of a SBC (?) gel as a mask. The idea stuck and I did this with my aloe vera gel as a last resort and it worked a minor miracle :D I think it did my skin more good than Origins Drink Up mask or Clinique Moisture Surge normally does. :T

How awful - hope you manage to get it sorted with your insurance. Not a good start to the weekend.:(

    I have another UU:

Estee Lauder Sensuous - this was a mini 5ml GWP but I love this perfume - it was in my going away toiletry bag so used it at my sisters - as it had only 1 more use left in it decided to liberate it from the stash. Looooooove this perfume so WBA (in fact have one in my stash that I bought on a trip to Bicester last year).

Have started as I mean to go on with body scrubs - am determined to use a scrub every Saturday as I am very forgetful when it comes to using a body scrub (or perhaps it is because there is so much of me to scrub - :rotfl:) - I use a face scrub twice a week without fail but just forget a body scrub. Used S&G flakeaway - liked the scrubbiness but found the scent a bit overpowering (I find their scents too flowerey somehow). Anyway, will persevere with it - I must admit my arms do feel nice and soft.

And I have 2 small INs as I managed to find some Glamour magazines:

    Benefit
    That Gal 7.5ml
    The Porefessional 7.5ml

I use a primer every day and although I like what I am using at the moment, I can't decide if it is a HG or not so good to have a trial run with something else at the bargain price of £2. Avoided the mascara as I got one of those in my Red magazine (this is progress for me...).

I used so many emoticons in that post *blush* :rotfl:

I'm trying to notch up a few No Spend days (on anything) this month. I've slipped into bad eBay clothes buying habits  I need to sell clothes, not buy them. I started counting NS days on the 7th and today could be my 3rd NS day. I would love to manage 10 NS days by the end of June.

We're all v worried about my Nan as she is waiting to be discharged from hospital, we've been told she isn't well enough to go back to her old folks home (a really lovely place) and we need to find her a place in a nursing home asap. She went into hospital with a minor infection that caused a fall (no lasting damage) and after being stuck in bed for a month has lost so much weight/strength that she can't go back to her home. (They had to have someone with her all the time at the hospital as she kept trying to get out of bed, so the will to move and be active is there. I feel like they just over-reacted to her age :().

My BF has been flown to a private island (!!!) for the next two weeks and he left us at something of a cliffhanger moment (not unhappy, just confusing). He is staying in a summerhouse on the edge of a lake where he has been given time to read, think and write (he's an artist and remarkable things like this often happen to him...)

SO. Lots of triggers for spending so I need to stay conscious of the urge to spend, be it toiletries, candles, clothes...it really doesn't matter. (I'm allowed unlimited chocolate though :rotfl:)
  • Forgot to mention - reading my Red magazine the giveaway next month is a REN set - you get all 3 items, according to the mag the value is £16 (mag costs £3.90):

    REN
Vetiver v7 hand and body cream 15ml
Hydra-calm global protection day cream 15ml
Active 7 radiant eye gel (can't see ml size properly in the ad but presume it will be 5ml)

On sale 4th July if anyone is interested.

Good to hear you face has calmed down Willowbee - The dangers of our UU quest here sometimes can be very painfull.

And - good feedback on the email. I like when a company does take the time to respond to feedback.

Thanks Willowbee, Valm, maddiemay, kiplingmonkey and Rosemary. I have been surveying the damage this morning and the vax and dehumidifier are doing a really good job. The damp walls are drying out and the damp smell is lifting. I kept it on during the night and have just moved it from room to room. It is now looking like it is more cosmetic than I first thought - thank goodness. I am trying to look past it at the mo and distract myself. I have a hair appopintment this afternoon for a cut and colour and then I am going to the M & S sale to buy some clothes - hehe not wine or chocs rosemary but I am sure you will understand :rotfl:

My mum has come over and will help me spend the cash at the shoppong centre and then back to mine for the clean up. I am bribing her with a nice dinner :D.

I do need to redo my nails but that will have to wait.

Willowbee - hope things work out ok for your nan and your OH's life does sound very interesting.
