I have just found details of this account via Google. No mention of a restriction to branches in Yorkshire.
http://www.ybs.co.uk/campaigns/builtontrust/good-honest-products.html
"All of our products are simple, transparent and come with no nasty surprises. Find out what we have to offer. "
What I have read so far is far from clear!
Not exactly sure what you mean by no mention of a restriction. I have read "One withdrawal allowed during term. Closure subject to 90 days' loss of interest on the amount withdrawn."0 -

Read the relevant bits again (my highlighting).0 -
They've re-designed the website, so that's why there was nothing on there previously about the account!
Edit: Sorry no they haven't!0 -
I see it has now re-appeared on their website, viewing from Newcastle. Maybe the Local Saver just means local......... :-)0

I was wondering if you could tell me the minimum opening balance for the Local Saver,
Up to £6000 can be saved up to the end of June 2013. You can hold one sole account and one joint account.
The account can be opened in Trust.
Deposits can be made via cash, cheque or electronic payment.
On 1 July 2013 interest will be added to the account which will convert to a Triple Access Saver.
If for any reason you require access to your money during the term, you are allowed one withdrawal or closure with the loss of 90 days interest on the amount withdrawn. However you can replace any funds withdrawn up to the £6000 until the end of June 2013.0 -
The OP agrees with xylophone but ...
In the page that I linked to above it says "Minimum investment amount of £100".
"All of our products are simple, transparent..." ?0 -
I can only report what it says on the official fact sheet which is on the desk in front of me as I type...0

Looks like the web page is unfinished and not supposed to be visible.
Does the leaflet say whether it's possible to open the account by phone or post?"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Just phoned head office on 01274 353228 - they are sending out the application form to me. I'm already a customer.
