Beef wellington meal deal success today.

The shelf was empty but they have another section with the meals and there were loads.

Trout was going to give JTD but on reminding of DTD capitulated.

Then gave DTD on a £10 meal deal forgetting this was a £15 deal.

    total was £26.49

    refund £32.98.

    great find OP

........The culture of staff ignoring company policy is dangerous for Tesco - staff will also ignore food safety if things get slack.

Absolutely agree with you. I'm absolutely certain that my local Tesco (which has a very bad reputation in the area) is relabelling perishable items rather than reducing them in price or throwing them out.

Difficult to prove, of course, but personal experience suggests this to be the case.

This is the same store that was responsible for selling on more than one occasion bottles of wine that had been opened and resealed (not very well). They were full - but not necessarily wholly with wine, and we never did find out the full story behind that.

Just two of the reasons we now shop at Aldi and Waitrose.
  • Does anyone know if this is still working - or Not working depending on How you look at it!!

The question is are we having beef wellington tonite? TIA
  • I imagine the Valentine's meal deal is still going and the Beef Wellington will still not be a part of it so can't see why it won't still be going as long as you can find somewhere that is still displaying the BW on the meal deal shelf.

The beef wellington was in the meal deal section at Tesco in Alfreton Derbyshire. I didn't buy it though so not sure if the valentines meal and DTD are ok in this store.

Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Funny you should say that, because the reduced shelf in my store (where you find dented tins, etc.) had a bottle of gin that was three quarters full, reduced to three quarters of its original price. The metal seal between the cap and neck had clearly been broken, and someone had put Sellotape around it. It's astonishing that the staff considered it acceptable to resell it after it was obviously tampered with, and could have been contaminated with anything.
