Still no signs up in both my local tescos about the valentines meal deal, but both stores have the beef wellington in the cabinets.

Last report of it not working was a few days ago but nothing since, I suppose it could be fixed.

Went to my local Tescos and the Beef Wellington was in the £15 meal deal cabinet.
Bought it and the meal deal did not kick in at check out.

I went to CS desk and they would only give me 1 x the difference as there was no SEL for the beef wellington on the shelf edge and they quickly grabbed the 6 remaining packs out of the cabinet .

They stated he beef wellington is not part of this deal as its only the restaurant collection meals included but I heard them say the mistake was nationwide and they had cleared out the cabinet yesterday and someone must have refilled the shelf in error and it was just a mistake !

They said that they didnt know who had refilled the shelf and I do hope they were not inferring that it was me !!

Is this correct procedure on their parts?

Apparently misprices reduce the bonus paid to the "price integrity team" so some stores will try anything to avoid following the DTD policy. The culture of staff ignoring company policy is dangerous for Tesco - staff will also ignore food safety if things get slack.

Express stores don't have price integ teams. I believe only CA's in Express regularly have a bonus available to achieve, hence have a lower hourly rate than superstore staff anyway.

Nope, I would not have been happy, you were entitled to dtd.

The Beef Wellington was not in the cabinet in my Tesco Extra - but was stated on the POS material. I found one and bought the meal deal which went through at the correct price - so I guess it has been fixed !

I bought the meal deal yesterday with the Beef Wellington in my local store and the SEL was out for it (£10) and it was also stated on the promotion.

I went for the box of chocolates as the dessert, but they had none, so assisstant looked in the back and said there was none in until today, but I could choose chocolates from the valentine aisle up to the value of £10 and she would honour the deal, so I got a large box of Thorntons (£12 reduced to £6) and Black Magic (£4) ... but as she had to put them all through the till and take off the difference, she rounded it to £15, so not sure of the BW promotion was not working.

However, it is labelled up as part of the offer in my store (B1ackley)

I bought the meal deal this evening at around 6pm and the Beef Wellington glitched.

I paid £24.49 (BW £10, wine £7.99, veg £3 and dessert £3.50) and got dtd of £18.98 back.
