A clever bit of MSE there
The real experts are on flyer talk forum. The "best" use of miles is to buy the cheapest Premium economy ticket and upgrade using miles to business class. That way you get the beds on long haul flights, use of the business lounge at airports, no queues for check-in or security and hopefully arrive refreshed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Long haul you would get seats that go completely flat and a blanket and pillow. On night routes you also get the option to eat dinner in the lounge before your flight, so you can sleep for the whole duration if you want. Obviously the seats are not as comfortable as a bed with proper mattress, but I had no probs sleeping.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Obviously the seats are not as comfortable as a bed with proper mattress, ..
I've not actually had that luxury for 5 years now. For 5 years I've either been kipping on sofas, or on the luxury of a 30 year old second hand mattress.
One day .... I aspire to having a bed.0 -

it may well be a lot better if you have trouble when flying economy. depends what the problem is i suppose - lots of people get badly swollen legs when they fly as a result of the effects of gravity combined with sitting upright for hours without moving. i presume that this is nowhere near as bad if you are lying flat for most of the flight.0 -

i smoke, we all smoke. everyone smokes. i only do it when i'm drinking though, so that makes it ok. honest.
i found out the other day that when you see actors smoking on TV they're not smoking real cigarettes. i had wondered how they were getting around the fact that you're not allowed to smoke in a workplace anymore. suppose i should have worked this out before now!0 -

I need to try again!

I also found that it was easier to give up if I had a cough or cold.chewmylegoff wrote: »i found out the other day that when you see actors smoking on TV they're not smoking real cigarettes. i had wondered how they were getting around the fact that you're not allowed to smoke in a workplace anymore. suppose i should have worked this out before now!
I noticed that they even let you smoke in spaceships, if I remember "Aien" properlyThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I vaguely remember on my first flights, must have been in the 80's...there was a smoker's area in the plane? Anyone know when smoking on planes was banned?0 -
I remember my first ever flight (Denmark on business), that as soon as the smoking light came on, me and my colleague lit up with very shaky hands! That would have been around 1989 ish.
Great flights though, business class on the way out and first class on the way back...and it was my birthday on the way back so I took advantage of the free champagne and rump steak offered. Mind you, finally got back home and my now ex hubby but was fiance at the time, had got champagne and rump steak ready for my arrival. I didn't have the heart to let him know I had already had something to eat as he had gone to so much effort, so munched my way through yet another evening meal.
Just remembered, it was my 19th birthday so was indeed 1989. The following birthday was celebrated with 3 broken toes and a business trip to Ilford! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I am genuinely glad i do not smoke anymore, sometimes, sometimes, i miss it, usually socially, where it just shows me it was a social prop which i should not need. I have tried since quitting and frankly i cannot imagine what the appeal was and why i am ever tempted. Last time i had a dra on a cigarette i vomited.
I sometimes wish, in this house, i still smoked, the house would still hum, but i would be able to smell it less.
I went to buy three of thise glass pendant lights silver car linked to a while ago and they have sold out.0
