My less have a wider angle than halogens 3.3w is about the same as 35w and we have 16 in the new bit of the kitchen bulbs are aabout 3 quid from ebay but probably about 15 percent have failed in first year despite claims of 10 year average life. No this is not the time to discuss standard distributions.I think....0

In an attempt to get to know you all (and since this thread is in the house prices section) has everyone here now bought their house, or are you all still looking to buy? I wont be buying for a few years yet, but I am interested to know what part of the country people are buying in, as there seem to be a lot of londoners on this forum.
Will be buying a house, but don't know the area yet, so waiting, while looking.
Budget = 40% smaller than ideal

I've no idea what's in the kitchen here, but I do know it's like the black hole of Calcutta.... complete with black/shiny/dangerous flooring and black worktops (which are already on my hate list) and a black sink/draining board (again, add to hate list). No natural light in it - and outside are 1001 100' dense green trees (conservation area).
This room is one tiny/miniature energy saving lightbulb, in the original ceiling fitting.... can't see Jack .... and it flickers annoyingly. Most of the time though I live without turning lights on, so that's OK as it's rarely on.0 -
Pastures, he didn't say two thousand, he said two dozen thousands. That's £24,000. To me, that would be not so much a posh alert as an insane alert. I cannot imagine any circumstances whatsoever in which I would decide that a light fitting was the best use I could make of £24k.In an attempt to get to know you all (and since this thread is in the house prices section) has everyone here now bought their house, or are you all still looking to buy? Mrs. Wheezy thinks it's our 'forever house', but I'd like a bit more garden/land.0 -

It's cheaper than I thought, I thought maybe £2,700-£3,500.
I'll never enter the LIR world of prices..... so I don't tend to do too many posh alerts any more (it'd be a full-time job). I have to google most of the food that's craved.... just to find out what it is
For £2,000 I'd expect a whole new kitchen, including lights, flooring, window dressings, some new bits and bobs .... and still have change for an indian takeaway.
Yeah, i know, i know.0 -

Have you seen fire fly jars? I want a few of them. And white fairy jars and orange sun jars.
Lots of jars of fake victorian style whimsy. Normally it would make me vomit, but i seem to want this atm.0
