The mother sounds a bit racist herself! What does this comment (of her's) mean:"Sonny was born in Britain and his skin colour should make no difference."

What significance is being born in Britain? Why mention it?

"Sonny’s mother spoke of her “shock” at the comment made in July to discuss Sonny’s schooling and attendance."

Was she shocked at him not attending school and a truancy officer needing to home visit?

she could have just been responding to the you will have to work harder than a white person born in britain to prove yourself - pointing out that he was born in britain in response to that is not particularly out of order.

but i do agree that what appears to have been said is, sadly, true and is just dose of reality really. whether or not the dose or reality was appropriate to the particular situation, who knows.

Toddler sitting is exhausting. I have to try and keep it clean too, as going to its granny after here. We have been through half a pack of baby wipes in an hour!!!

The trick is to let 'em get as grubby as they like and then give them a good rinse afterwards.

I received my very first Kindle yesterday, I am christening it with 'The Manchester Man' a wonderful book that charts a child's progress literally from the gutter (or river) to a successful life in Manchester, some great historical perspective and well worth a read.. The book is hard to get hold of but I downloaded it from Archive.org although it is full of errors, still it is readable so far.

Wow, cheers mate, a result straight away, James Herbert's new novel for £0.20p, it was £8 last week and around £5 yesterday. I have been debating whether to buy the hardback or the ebook :) That must be wrong surely, I have been waiting about three years for him to release that book. It is no.1 in the Amazon bestsellers, no wonder at £0.20p.
