so, in haste, we booked some tickets this morning (£1300 for both of us). except that we return one day after best friend's wedding where i'm supposed to be the bridesmaid.

I know i should bow out of being a bridesmaid but do i kill myself to return a day before the wedding to go a wedding where OH doesn't really like the groom?

What would you do? ughhhhh...feeling particularly mortified right now

What do you want to do? as opposed to what you should do.

    I've been Money Tipped!
If we only went to the weddings where we liked both partners we would not go very often at all. Um, maybe one weeding that we have been to! E.g. We have one couple friend we love both of them, and went to the arris end of nowhere to go to their wedding. Dh's really close friend from uni married his uni flatnate and dh and she could not stand each other....but the invite still came.

Weirdest one, was dh's best feiend in the whole world who had a magazine featured destination wedding, which we did not go to (money was a huge factor, my health and lack of desire to sit on a beach in a swim suit too though). The weird thing about thaty is that just before they got engaged he told dh he was breaking up with her at the weekend, just stealing himself to do it.

Wonder which NPs might like this song someone showed me as a tribute to Neil Armstrong's recent death, Monochrome by the Sundays, about the moon landing. ;)

How exciting, which windows? Did you meet Hamble and Big Ted and Little Ted? Oh, the joy!

missk, I want to give you a good shake. My best friend didn't want to be my bridesmaid, but she told me after I'd asked her and it was fine. The longer you leave this before sorting out the worse it will get. Nobody should feel forced to do something that they don't want to, but equally you need to tell as much of the truth as you can and be gentle with her, not hide behind DH.

The important question: Have you already bought your dress?

You never get to talk to the bride or groom at a wedding for more than 5 minutes anyway. Even when I was best man I hardly saw the groom so not liking the groom much isn't really a problem. However of you don't want to go, then slack it off.
