Palmer, thats the surname. I had forgotten, thank you silvercar.
Having spent ages chopping back our front hedge carefully, we think we might rip it put instead now. Local garden centre has offered me a good deal on bareroot yew (what we really want instead of cut a hundred times a year privet). Still, been a good exercise. We might take some privet cuttings to fill up the short run of privet we intend to keep, as it looks a bit bare as we hacked it back so hard!0 -

Been out today, went there and it wasn't on, so wandered about, came back, went elsewhere, discovered new stuff.... chain fell off bike .... walked it forlornly back to the car, fixed it by magic and I was off again ..... round some Fun Day Out ..... then back to here'sabout as I'd spotted a new (cheap) indian opening tonight, so I picked up one of those (unbelievably cheap to start with, then 20% off .... so £4). Ate, boxed up the second half and fridged it .... did the washing up, wiped up, put away .... trotted up here, vacuumed carpet ... got online.
All that and it's only 6.30!
Guesstimate walking/cycling distance today is 4 miles ... but I'll be checking it on an online distance plotter in a minute.
Edit: Checked the actual distance, did 6.5 miles.0 -

21C and beautiful weather today and not a cloud in the sky. The sun is noticably stronger as we move into spring too: I wouldn't have wanted to be without my sunscreen, sunnies and had today. We had a family trip to this place today:

The reptilist was brilliant. He handled snakes and lizards including a death adder and a diamond back rattlesnake. They also fed a 5m long salt water crocodile while standing in the pen with it! Those beggurs don't mess about: they will happily eat a person.
The missing child announcement was also quite funny:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner of today's negligent parent award....."
More bushfires on the way home I think. When we stopped for fuel there was a very obvious smell of burning gum trees. I hope it was back burning/hazard reduction (where they burn some of the undergrowth so there is less fuel if a fire starts) but Sunday is an unusual day to do it as they have to pay the firefighters double money.0 -
Went to proms in the park yesterday at Hyde Park. It was a gorgeous day, but as your resident vampire, I had to spend most of it hidden under my umbrella with a flag wrapped round me.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Sshhh, scared to say it in case i jinx it but......
.....i feel rather well today. Pacing myself because so much to do but do not want to burn out, so i keep coming in for breaks. We are just about to have brunch (planned for eleven but we were still doing).
Its a perfect day, though dh says my thermostat is out and its hotter than i think, normally i hate it too hot, today i am fine and happy.
The cats are rolling around in builders rubble, and the fig we just repotted looks four feet taller and proud. We are running behind, especially and we have some of yesterdays stop to chatters in, who want something we cannot give for charity.0 -
Good wedding. I got so drunk that I couldn't stand up or see. Birmingham is rubbish though. Even worse, I booked train tickets home for the wrong day so we are now sitting in pleb class and it is like pulling your own teeth out with pliers. How do these people survive?!0

This is why we shouldn't have public schools so chewie is not too shocked and appalled on having to sit in 'standard' class.chewmylegoff wrote: »Good wedding.
