Pn, i would go with guidance on this.0 -

A pair of cotton deck shoes etc will be far preferable to rubber shoes even if the deck shoes look "enclosed" your skin will be far drier in them than rubber shoes with holes in.
Fungal infections will love those rubber shoes. Please don't wear them for a few weeks.
It's excruciatingly burning again .... off to the sink with me...0 -
Try taking an antihistamine ( for hayfever) tablet, that may stop the itching.
Putting your rubber crocs in the freezer overnight should kill the fungi. I think. Its what I used to do with the kids soft toys!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Sorry.
FWIW I dont agree with the "change shoes each day" unless your feet are very sweaty but do change socks twice a day if you can (or more!), and when sat down take the socks and shoes off.0 -
While out tomrrow pn pick up an eyemask that can go in the fridge or freezer, then in the evening say.....just off to pamper myself ( buy a face mask too, why not?) then put the cold eyemask over your clean sock.
They are sort of gel consistancy, last forever. I love mine, even now i don't have a fridge next to my bed.0 -

That's as maybe but as soon as she puts them back on they'll be a breeding ground again. The fungus is in the skin. Just wash in washing up liquid/detergent and put them away til your feet are better.
Really is a "NO" to the crocs for now.0 -

I do think shoes shpuld really be given a couple of days off if possible. Just from comparing wear over years, those rested a d recycled get more wears over the years. But in pn ,s case i agree, it would be outlay she can hopefully avoid with good socks.0 -

Hope you manage to get some sleep.
If you go shopping, then maybe you could get something like this and spray your clutch pedal with it!
I wonder if piriton would help with the itching. I've no idea if there's any histamine component to what's going on physiologically, but I know piriton does wonders for chicken pox itching, so it's obviously good for more sorts of itch than just the allergic kind. [X-posted with silver and Jonny]
I absolutely hate itching. Just the thought of what PN is going through is driving me nuts. Must now stop researching things that might help, and sort things out to be ready for tomorrow.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Yes I agree. But i was trying to allay PN's fears (although only one's I'd guessed she'd have) that she'd have to buy two pairs. If she's at home and not in them for most of the day then one pair would be ok.0 -

Atm i am better able to empathise. My pills make my skin really irritable, today the
LAce of my bra drove me up the wall, i had to change. The other thing they do is give you the feleing you are tuching nettles, mainly in your hands and feet. Its an odd sensation, not as bad as itching, but that nettle feeling makes you think 'danger, move from nettles' and of course, yu cannot. Its a lot, a lot, a lot betterthan the head pain and going blind though:D.
Piriton is ace if its ok for you pn, best just before bed though. And of copurse....take chemists advice.0
