* = waitrose or sainsbury's at a push. the following are classified as food jumblesales: aldi, asda, tescos, lidl, any other supermarket which is not waitrose or sainsbury's (although i miss kwiksave).
french supermarkets, on the other hand...if only we could have a few of them over here. worst supermarkets ever = australian ones, mainly because the sausages are made out of beef and they are full of australians.
Has anyone been in one of the 'new' morrisons lately, with 'fresh market' or whatever its called. They are AMAZING, better than even the best Waitrose on the feuit and veg front (of course, its mainly imported exotic stuff, but incredible).0 -

We had the inaugural family outing to the new Aldi here a couple of weekends ago. My mum had underestimated how much she had picked up so didn't have enough cash on her. My dad looked blank, and as so often around here, I was like the Queen (not carrying any cash/ cards as I'm not spending anything). After a few moments of mum looking blank I suggested that she could use her debit card, then she got her PIN wrong. It was one low-cost supermarket faux pas after another!0 -

I go to look at the gardening stuff, and stock up on washing up liquid. Its handily right next to the car cleaning place i have been using for the last year (not very mse). That said, using this year means...have been twice.0 -
I love shopping in Aldi its quiet enough to move around freely and its cheap.
I will say pricewise its mostly comparable to the others budget labels (smart price, basics, value etc) but the quality is so much better.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

I was travelling around Europe and found in other countries I was never sure in a cafe/bar/whatever whether to order at the bar/counter or wait for someone to serve you
When new here it was unusual for me to order at the bar, or pay for food upfront for that matter. Paying upfront for cooked food is wrong.PasturesNew wrote: »Got my leg aids looked at .... new cream and some tablets now.
I probably missed it, but what's wrong with your leg, PN? How did they diagnose it?0 -

I've never knowingly eaten a sausage full of Australians. Maybe not being very well travelled has its advantages.0 -

The nice builders we have a furious because i pointed out the beautiful little chicken on the front lawn is a boy, and thus.......destined for the pot probably. They probably would be happier of i had said we were going to eat Austrailian people sausages.
Its not a forgone conclution, i think the other rooster i kept from last year might not be very fertile. In which case........the little pne gets to live. I do like my current rooster though, he is not too rough and very good looking. And a great size.0 -

Is that the one that DD named Chickadee when he was little?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Funily enough, I get the same comments made about my c0ck :rotfl:0 -

Yes, thats him....your kids named him. He is very, very handsome. But ....if he is not being a father.....sigh.
If all the roosters got along we would keep them. Problem is, its just not as kind as it sounds. They fight, and its nasty, painful, and prolongued. One wins.
Funnily enough, we have in the past kept three cockerals and three hens together with no problem whatsoever....and you would think here where they have room to get away from each other it would be easy.....but no.0
