According to a match.com TV ad, 1 in 5 people now meet their partner online.

Probably due to no one going into a Pub unaccompanied nowadays.

Fwiw pn, i have had ringworm via horses that came to the yard, and once id'd and treated it did not spread on the individuals at all.

If you were here pn, i would make you go through the horse routine of topical treatment, white head collar and lead rope and, well, because you are a human you can have a white boiler suit too. If you were a horse i would sacrifice a second horse to keep you company and contract it with you, but as you like solitude it would all be much easier!

So, dad in london talks to their friend and private gp and says i am seeing new endocrinologist now. (private gp also validated my choice to delay til seeing the endocrine person, so offer of horse has been withdrawn i think).

Dad called ro tell me from their restaurant table, and friend says he has a recommendation for who i should see, and i say, oh no, its decided, my GP recommended 'dr very cool name' and now dad's friend and go is having appoplexy. Even that lot cannot agree on stuff and who is good. Imo they are all quacks. I wish i could just tell them what i want to try at my own riak and get them to write scripts and monitor. (joke, joke, relax. Well, sort of joke)

Well, not sure. The two quacks today, at very close inspection .... said "Well, it's DEFINITELY fungal...." and that's it. So whether it's ringworm or not .... no idea. The other issue is that it's been spreading.... but under the skin and not erupting. You can now add two palms and the other sole to the list... and it looks like the right leg's about to erupt.

There is a benefit to virtual friendships I had never valued before. Reduced exposure to contagions.

To make you feel better I also admit to unpleasant things I have hosted.

I will raise you - nits and scabies.

My mother thought she had scabies, she was too embarrassed to go to the doctor. When the itching eventually got worse she gave in and went and learned she was experiencing the wonder of harvest mites.

They had them every year where they just sold.

I am scratching tonight, not sure what is biting me. Checked the cats, nothing on them.

I've spent the last few months reading a series of (unconnected) novels which all feature doomsday scenarios caused by the EMP shock wave caused by nuclear warheads. I'm starting to get quite paranoid about it now, not least because my kindle would stop working. I think I need to move onto some different subject matter. Like zombie apocalypse.

On the old style board there are threads given over to preparing for the apocalypse/when SHTF/winter/etc. Good homely stuff in the main - with a frisson of hunkering down. I get the idea that you will need fleece blankets, door curtains and a wind uptorch.

Are you implying that the NP diagnosis of ringworm was correct?

Does it have a sharp outline to it? Could be a fungal infection.

I like the prepare threads. Or did til they ridiculed someone in a news paper artcal who had a crate or two of champagne in their hoard.

End of the world, in a bunker, with men eating tinned food, which inevitably includes a large proportion of flatulence inducing beans and pulses. I think i would feel better with a botttle of champagne every now and then too.

If its going to be the end of the world might as well be a jolly end.
