See, i find the corners of fitted sheets jump off, where as flat ones stay put, made tightly, hospital corners etc . They last a week with no issue. So i am guessing i could take them a lot longer. We have a fitted sheet on atm, and i have had to tuck in the corner under my head every single morning.
That's a size/fitting issue. If you have generous fitted sheets then you can tuck the corners right in .... if you have a fat mattress it's hard to get that 4th corner to ever hold.... olds had this issue once they put a topper on the mattress.

You have to get the fitted corners under the mattress.... sometimes the only way I can do this is by kneeling on the bed, pulling up/back the corner of the mattress, fitting the sheet round it, then letting it go and leaping off the bed,....

Now you are just showing off - every morning?!

Well, yes, but not for the reason a boy chalet girl might think, because dh has been away for two of those nights. :D. Flat ones stay put pretty much whatever.

Kingsize bed, king size fitted sheet, not a fat mattress. Yet. I am not far fropm shoving a duvet under the top sheet and getting the elcetric blanket out again this year.

Last night i was cold and dh got up and put an extra duvet and two blankets on me, then i had dreams i was a hairless rabbit swimming ion a cauldron with huge vegetables and i was trying to find a way out. So i guess i was too warm with all of that extra!:rotfl:

Just got back from the cafe, now in NW10 office, and after asking a customer who was going to the off license/mini store whether she'd get me some bleach and a pack of Marlboros for me, then duly giving her a £20 note, she returned with 2 bottles of bleach (58p each), 20 Marlboro lights (£5.00) and put £9.80 change on the table.

I've lovingly broached this with her, mentioning explicitly that I gave her a £20 note, when she pulled a bottle of wine out of her pocket, telling me she'll 'pay tomorrow'

I'm not going down tomorrow, and I'm certainly not very happy with her for doing this!:mad::mad:

Why should I be seen as the soft touch?

Oh, and I got told off by another Cllr for swearing at a parking attendant who was putting a ticket on my car (with a blue badge on full display) for being on a double yellow.I'll sort that on Monday!

I am relatively new on this thread, only made 3 posts or so but I hope I haven't offended anyone. You know, I havent posted that often because it feels like you all know each other really really well and because of this I often don't know what to say in response to certain posts; I can tell there is a lot of history there, and with 370 pages I just don't have the time to catch up. I was given a nice welcome though, so I appreciate that.

It is not cliquey nor is it competitive as non of us are aiming for a common goal. Sometimes the thread moves very quickly and I have to skip pages as I cannot keep up. Still post though. Other times I read every word and don't post. The back stories are there but important history has a tendency to emerge again if it is needed.

Just boiled 3 eggs.... so that's a little pizza, salady stuff, eggies, spud salad and some cheese in the fridge. Won't starve tomorrow then... or any day as I'm too greedy to go without :)

Did you really think it acceptable to be abusive? Does 'sorting it out' infer using your official role to call them account.

If you swore at one of my staff I would tell you off too.

Careful with your actions on Monday - If you overstepped your privileged boundaries I would let you know that too.

Welcome to MiddyMum, don't worry about previous stuff, my memory is so short I forget what we have talked about.

We bought a couple of beds from IKEA and the size is slightly different to beds everywhere else, so I put flat sheets on rather than fitted. OH doesn't approve and thinks people like fitted sheets so the creases are pulled out and don't form when you move around in your sleep. Opinions?

My brother acquired an IKEA super king from friends when he moved into his house. It took 3 of us to reassemble it (so heavy!), and we wanted it for use that evening so when we we're getting a lazy dinner from Tesco we picked up a king size flat sheet as that was the biggest. Guess who making up the bed was delegated to (rolls eyes). I do a lovely hospital corner though, even if I say so myself :)
