I hope I haven't offended.
TBH I'm confused. and upset that I could lose a virtual friend for a reason I don't understand. and bewildered that I haven't picked up a vibe that others have seen/ felt.
But maybe I've been wrapped up in a sea of bereavement and haven't noticed stuff.
No silver car, never you. I consider you one of the original gang, one of the reasons no started, and while not confined to the original 'coven' (think of more recent joiners, gorgeous spirit and nikki for example but not exclusively) don't think it would have started with out a core of people who could laugh and weep together. I will pm my concerns if you like, though might feel even worse to feel embroiled in a storm in someone else's teacup.
Fwiw, i do not intend to reply to any more ' is it me? ' or 'it it x' messages. If i decide to beggar off then its me!0 -

Phew!
On a subject we have discussed a long time ago, Dwell have lights made from inverted glass bottles. I recall you looking for something similar a while back.

No the NPT has changed lir. In the past I would have summed it up as a "little thread of randomness" where we shared our irrelevant musings on anything and everything. Sometimes the thread has been cerebral, at others just plain odd, but that's what made it enjoyable.
Recently it has changed. I don't think money was discussed as much back then and personally I would like to see it discussed less here as it is not at the core of the NPT (given that the national currency is not mushrooms). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I've never picked them. We have some in our garden, but not sure what they are/ whether they are edible/ tasty.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. As a child we wuld go "home" to Ireland for holidays. Staying at my Aunt's farm who grew potatoes and had sheep we kids would be sent out to pick the mushrooms for breakfast.
Big field mushrooms fried with white pudding.
I might dribble just thinking about it.0 -
Not seen any here yet miss k. Been too wet, they would rot as soon as sprout i think.
Not even a puffball.
Silvercar, wise not to eat what you do not know. But you could get them id'd. If you are one the mushroom lovers.. It certainly feels right to be eating mushrooms now. Mushroom pasta and risotto and soup and on toast. I might even make a mushroom stronganoff, which i have never made.

Oh, and first time lit the wood burner for the season. Early for me, innit? I am freezing. I allways run quite cold, but the new drugs make my hands and feet like blocks of ice, plus i have a cold so need to get it out of me. So reroped the woodburner this mornig and are giving it the required fire for this glue while warming the sitting room.
Its been amazing to watch the chimney and flue go up in the cheese room, its beautiful, really gorgeous, The bricks are beautiful reclaim ones, but we are limewashing them, and hoping the paint will blow a little, as it has done before, so that amazing shadows are made on the pale lime wash by the bricks.
No body really knows whether the fire will draw or not. We need to source a huge piece of slate for the hearth now.0 -

It's cold here too. Makes me wonder how we managed before fleece. I have fleece everything now - socks, blankets, jackets, pyjama bottoms - for when it is cold. Who would have thought that a recycled soda bottle could be so comforting? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? ohhhhh,....stroganoff!!!! I might go and get the fixings for that. We should really be eating the glut of beans and courgettes (I have a courgette glut, yay!). but I might freeze as much as I can. I'm getting to the point of having had enough. we have fresh sweetcorn to pick as well.
Anyone know if I can shuck sweetcorn and freeze it raw?0
