I had seen that, I only hold one Amex at the moment and that one was not reissued after the card expired, I phoned up to ask why and was told they had decided not to issue me with a new card for commercial reasons (
) but they have also weirdly not closed my account so I don't know where I stand on that one. However I am now over 6 months since I closed my last Amex having maxed out the 5% in the first 3 months cashback so may be it is time to have another one although the £25 fee is making it less attractive.
Amex doesn't like me either michaels. I got a lifetime balance transfer that was so good I had no incentive to pay down, just let it run. They don't like this very much, so everytime I cross a threshhold, they reduce my balance accordingly. I don't think they liked it very much when I changed jobs and started paying myself differently, meaning my actual salary is much lower. It wouldn't surprise me if you had a similar profile: ie it costs them and our "worth" appears to have reduced (even if in reality it hasn't).Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Answer seems to be either of:
1) take a standard bulb and a pair of pliers/clippers/hacksaw and cut off one of the pins
2) use the pliers to bend the fitting so you can fit a 2 pin in as per the comment in your linked post
Even if you have to buy a pair of pliers this seems to be both cheaper and much more widely available.
Or change the fitting to one that takes a standard 2-pin bayonet, as viva and people on the linked thread have already suggested.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Pouring down here. May go and see the three Queens in the Solent although this is probably weather dependant.

The plethora of possible lightbulbs is annoying. 30 years ago, all you needed was a range of brightnesses in a standard bayonet fitting, and that would cover all your needs for a spare lightbulb box. Now, my house needs bayonet (bedrooms, dining room, utility room), big screw (playroom), little screw (living room), little screw with specially shaped bulb (cooker hood), little screw with another specially shaped bulb (fan oven), HL10 (conservatory), GU10 (kitchen ceiling), and small strip (kitchen counters). It would cost a fortune to keep spares of all those in the house just in case.
I also have spares of G9 that I no longer use (old kitchen light fitting that broke and had to be replaced) and I used to have mini bayonet (living room in previous house).
PS Raining steadily here, and has been all day.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I have an old lamp that I've chucked the shade away on because it was hideous. That's my 'spare bulb', just plug it in and use it until I get a new one. I do keep a few others, but only because I found them cheap in a sale. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I bet she's hoping she doesn't have a platinum jubilee in another 10 years.
