If my OH was over 90 and in hospital with an infection I would say, "sorry can't make it, hope you understand." I guess the Queen can't do that.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I knew you weren't making it up Pastures, I just wondered if you didn't have the likes of Wickes and B&Q down there. Which in the scheme of things would not be that unlikely!
But that is a bonkers solution. If it was my own house, I'd just get a new lot of contract fittings put in, the sort that "normal" houses have, at a cost of £1.50 per light fitting from any DIY store. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm now checking Wickes.... which I could visit and pick one up from and it'd only add 20 miles to my journey planned today. . . .no, they don't do them.
This has been "sudden" - light blows, you go to replace it and find ... it's different. So you take it to a few shops and they say "no, not got those" ... it's only me googling that's discovered what they are and why they're different - and that they're impossible to find. Meanwhile, I have a sibling out there in the rain driving wherever might have some trying to find one.... waste of a day and fuel.
What should have been a day of rest for somebody who works hard.... will end up in frustration, annoyance, driving and no rest. For a !!!!!!!' lightbulb!!
I think these lightbulbs are ONLY in the hallway/loo... not the rest of the house. If so, we'll end up just having no lights in the hallway and stairs for months.... it's a dangerous legislation.0 -

I've never been an ardent royalist (nor a republican), but I have to say she has won new respect from me this weekend. They both looked frozen on that barge for all those hours, but still stood and waved. You got a sense from that how much she and Philip are an item, tackling challenges together. She won't have enjoyed the concert much, it was one for the younger generations, but she still attended. Now she is "at church", to be followed by a banquet, as you say out of duty. She is quite amazing and I doubt we will ever see her like again. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Answer seems to be either of:
1) take a standard bulb and a pair of pliers/clippers/hacksaw and cut off one of the pins
2) use the pliers to bend the fitting so you can fit a 2 pin in as per the comment in your linked post
Even if you have to buy a pair of pliers this seems to be both cheaper and much more widely available.PasturesNew wrote: »I checked the B&Q website - they don't have them.

I am so not in to all this Jubilee stuff but I do think it is showing a large bit of 'middle England' that normally does not make it on to the media radar as being too white, too middle class, too out of touch and generally just not 'cool'I think....0

I think it lovely that the union jack flag has been reclaimed for the country rather than being seen as the mascot of the extreme right/ footbal hooligans in Europe.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I had seen that, I only hold one Amex at the moment and that one was not reissued after the card expired, I phoned up to ask why and was told they had decided not to issue me with a new card for commercial reasons (
) but they have also weirdly not closed my account so I don't know where I stand on that one. However I am now over 6 months since I closed my last Amex having maxed out the 5% in the first 3 months cashback so may be it is time to have another one although the £25 fee is making it less attractive.
My next credit searches (generally I find about 6 per year is a safe number and look for opportunities for each one worth at least £100) are likely to be 'spent' on Santander 1-2-3 accounts and credit card as you only pay one fee if you have both and cash back on direct debits sounds good (especially as it is allegedly possible to manually over pay by DD to some energy suppliers and then claim the positive account balance back by cheque)
