[a] Where they do them now
How far away that is.
Queenie won't want annoying people crawling all over her roof for a week and letting off noisy fireworks when she's trying to sup her cocoa and watch the telly.
Bound to be a c0ck up on the trains now. They'll shut down in 10 minutes or something0 -

They do it at the London Eye, it's not very far. A mile? The top of the Mall which has that amazing view of the masses lining the Mall is just across the River.
We watched the fireworks from across the river this New Year - there must have been a million people; this sort of thing just gets bigger and bigger. Isn't this a wonderful start to a special, British summer.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thought I had wandered on to the curmudegeonly people thread .
I don't watch large concerts for the quality of the singing, when many of the acts are in their sixties, rather watch it for the spectacle and vicariously joining in.
I loved the ALW/GB composition. Catchy little number , inclusive and still in my head.
Suggest CK tries to sign up that fabulous little soloist.0 -
Just got back from going out for a peep at our local beacon. I now smell like a kipper. I think the local scouts, who organised it, are all pyromaniacs. Having seen the little one at Edinburgh and the one on the Strand, it must be one of the biggest in the country: its like watching a house on fire and roughly the same size!
It was made of pallets and probably about two or three storeys tall. People everywhere and all wearing flags and associated patriotic stuff. I thought that too. It was terribly sad.
If I may say so Pastures, for an aspie, that's a bl**dy good reading of facial expressions there. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Using Android depends on what version you're on, so you may need to root around a bit. Here's one for version 3.1:

There's a reasonable list of free Android apps here, a lot more have been added in the comments section below:

Have a play and see how you get on. Android is pretty straight forward to find your way around. Can't help more as your phone is a bit different to mine.
ETA: have just seen michaels's post on prev page, so you may only need the top one...
Ta muchly viva. You're right it's not Android. Got some youtube videos about the phone to sit through. The manual's cr4p, I'm afraid.
Walking the dog this evening was ruined by fireworks (and no we're nowhere near buck house)!
It's bad enough they have them in November but this time of year as well! Idiots! It's after 11 now and they've stopped. The dog can calm down now.:(There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
