Getting excited... Paralympics start on Wednesday. Going to the opening ceremony (got tickets months ago before all the excitement built up) and it sounds like it will be amazing. Hope the weather's ok, its looking a bit iffy at the moment.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? But miss the snow, the apres ski atmosphere, local delicacies, and with any luck a chalet girl like michaels.
Dh would love to learn to ski. I just know he would break something, twice.0 -

I'd be rubbish at skiing too. I hate being cold. Holidays aren't far enough up my list of priorities for me to spend any money on them anyway. A paid-for holiday would just mean looking after my kids by myself as usual but somewhere less convenient. I enjoy not having to go to work for 8 weeks, but it wouldn't make sense for me to go anywhere exotic. We just visit friends and family - then there are other grown-ups for me to talk to, and frequently other kids for mine to play with too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I think the idea is that I whiten my teeth and the crown is matched tO them.
Should have been working much harder on keeping your real teeth white,rather than expecting professional artists to work miracles.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Exactly. We spend our time visiting friends and family too.
Tbh, the long holidays in the education sector are an illusion. We pay top dollar to go anywhere. Cheap January holidays?

If you went somewhere where there were loads of children and activities for them, you may find that the children are occupied and you could relax in the sun. Though I totally understand the extra worry of looking after them alone abroad. Could you holiday with a friend + their children?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thats one of the things we miss about having animals...you cannot just get on a last minute flight somewhere for one night and see whatever happens. I generally like to be more organised. But i think the odd bit of spontaneous behaviour (when schedule allows) is fun.
Organised. That's Mrs JB alright. She likes organised, and I'm happy to let her get on with it.
Spontaneous trips have been limited to this country up to only recently. Both because of animals (the kids) and because of cash. We really have only been able to afford stuff like this the last 3 or 4 years.
We're now playing catch up, but still mainly organised stuff. eg Going to see the first couple of tests of the Lions tour in Aus in 2013 too. (Can't stay for the third test due to eldest's graduation... :mad:... I'll let her off if she gets a first
)
We don't have a free weekend for spontaneous for ages... and I'll want to stay at home when it is free. I guess we're a few years off that kind of spontaneous yet0
