Just found out that DS has got his original place at uni! :)

Silvercar that is absolutely fantastic! I am so pleased for him. I hope that the Uni and course live up to his expectations. :j

I wanted to .... but I had to skedaddle up the road as the LL was showing somebody my room, perchance they might want to rent it after I've left. So I missed most of it.... saw the end result of the pie, I've looked it up since and they cheated and used a pizza base mix. Wasn't anything special/great really... except it's achievable at 330 cals. I LOVE PIES!!!

LL didn't make me go out, I would have just felt like a spare part.... and I'd have cluttered up the dinky living room, making it look impossibly small.... so I chose to do a quick disappearing act.

We weren't planning on watching it, but it started and was actually quite a nice programme. Nothing revolutionary, but the food looked nice and happened to not be hugely calorific. Seemed a lot more of a realistic diet plan than a lot of them.

You don't need to go to Uni... the alternative is to marry well. Trouble is .... that's the Plan B.... and there's no Plan C if you fail at Plan B.

People want to eat their usual food on a diet ... and if they aren't shown how to do that then once the diet's over it's back to the pies .... so it's good to show how food can be lower calorie.

He scanned and emailed his results yesterday (as uni sees grades not points) and phoned. Today he phoned again and they still said no, but said they would put him on a reserve list. Half an hour later they phoned to say someone had dropped out and offered him the place.

I guess it saves more complication in terms of amounts of data, but it seems a bit silly that Unis can't see the points (esp for cases like his). I'm sure it didn't do him any harm in being persistent and showing them just how keen he was for the course/ Uni.

    Well done him :T

Silvercar that's great news! Is it near or far -does he have to sort out accommodation?

His accommodation application is still live from when he choose them as his insurance offer. He just told them that there was an administration problem ;) and that their paperwork may show he was off the course then back on the same course. So the original early application for accommodation stands. He hasn't been allocated a hall yet but he is guaranteed uni accommodation.
