However the buzz about the Olympics meant that there has been a surge in ticket sales for the Paralympics and a further 500,000 have sold, so there's not much left now.
Whilst a bit of a pain for people trying to get tickets, I think this is great for the paralympians (real word?). As much as Team GB have moved me so far, I think they will be on a whole other level.0 -

"hit the food courts and you’ll see signs only for ‘jacket potatoes’, ‘fish and chips’ and ‘drinks’. It’s like walking into an alternative reality, where KFC, Yo Sushi and Starbucks don’t exist. Only McDonalds has crept into this parallel universe, "0 -
aren't there nicer places to eat in the olympic park? would be awful if there was only mcd's there.
Yes, there is quite a bit of choice, fish and chips, curry etc. Think there was a pie shop as well, there were four or five different options apart from McDonald's (and multiple outlets for all). I cannot vouch for the quality of it as all I ate was an m&s sandwich OH got for me, one bite every half an hour. I can't ever remember any packet of food remaining uneaten for so long after I opened it.
Well done on the job nikkster. Hope it's something interesting and exciting!0 -

I hope so too... Sounds like it should be but will have to see of course. What I've been told I'll be paid is significantly more than what I was told during my phone interview which is a promising start. Still not megabucks but by far the most I'll ever have been paid
Hope you sleep well tonight and feel more like normal tomorrow!0 -

Might kayak over there next year, except you have to cross the path of the big ferries, so need to understand the timetables
I will give you a reason. There are nice quiet sandy beaches there where you can just do your thing in peace. The water is very shallow, so you can also paddle out a long way in complete safety.
There are red squirrels, peacocks and wood ants. Avoid the latter.
There's ruins of various things, notably some early glasshouses where posh people in the past had stuff like melons grown for them. (Now they go to Waitrose.)
I used to take the school kids there to swim etc until 'elf & safety caught up with me.....
Ferries from Sandbanks go there every half hour or so.
Go on, you know you want to really!0 -
Relief! I'll eat anything, but that. Great article PN.
Glad you made it, chewyEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Go on, you know you want to really!I didn't even earn that much today
It's only the middle bit where the ferries go that's deep... just need to double check the timetables and I could be away ....0 -

You know you're onto a winner when your employee increases your pay when you haven't asked them to - especially if you haven't even started yet!
Just got home, over 2 hours back cos of that tube mess. I think I will sleep for a week.0
