No, I come from the "non lush" generation :)

I come from the 'lush' generation

I did initially type something warm and alcoholic, then couldn't remember whether PN was a drinker or not.

I was thinking of Gluhwein - never tried it before but I very much like mulled wine so think it should be a fairly safe bet :)

We Hertfordshirians definitely need to annex Enfield. It has just won a bronze as well.

congratulations nikki on your job! :) what are you going? ooooohhh, so pleased you've moving on.

    congratulations to percy on nuptials.

And err...anything else I've missed today?

Thanks missk (and everyone else :)).

Not sure whether you meant where am I going or what am I doing so I'll part-answer both!
What: something science-based that will I think use the three areas I have studied at Uni, and involves knowledge of practical methods but I don't think I will spend any time in a lab
Where: big multinational, somewhere just north of Herts

I am a bit sad that I won't be doing lab work as I really enjoy it, and am also making the difficult to reverse move from academia into industry, but the job sounds great, nice place to work and they are still keen on research/ publishing/ collaborating with unis so a good balance. Assuming I get the PhD, I probably would have tried to get a postdoc but I think that I would have ended up trying to get something like this job anyway.

Michaels - I think quite a few people at the place-of-work-to-be do indeed commute from Herts so it is a definite possibility for the future, but I think I will start closer by and suss out areas/ working hours etc...

Yes, I will be leaving the land of parentshire, and heading slightly south east. I think I will be residing in a county adjacent to the almighty Hertfordshire

:rotfl::rotfl: Son waiting on a job too and desp to move out. I was a bit affronted by it but he explained it well.....he moved back 2 years ago to do his course and wants to live his own life again.
He does like the bill-free lifestyle, the laundry/food service and free car that fills up with petrol by magic but really wants his own place again.

Percy's sig announces 4/8/12 as the date of the wedding.

What is the world coming to when newlyweds are posting on internet forums instead of 'honeymooning'?

Is it post modern or something?

    :rotfl: Congrats Percy.

It's mosquitos we have a problem with. I mean, we have them every year and they do bite a few times but this year is ridiculous. I have a bit on my bum that is the size of a small cherry. It's almost beyond bite and hovering on the verge of being more of a growth of some sort. :o

And itchy itchy itchy even if I cover it in tea tree oil.......so I waft about Fashion land smelling of tea tree oil most days at the mo.

We both have several bumper size bites on various body parts.

I am about o order our executioner in a mo (after my thread catch up).

I didn't realise Silvercars place was abroad.........somewhere hot.:) Enjoy SC cos it's raining here again.

You need to go to the google homepage (click on the four flashing dots if you have your own image loaded).

    Click on the start button

with the left and right arrows click quickly between the two to run, then click the spacebar to jump until you reach the end of the track. Then you'll get told your time.
