And err...anything else I've missed today?

Yes, Hertfordshire has another gold and silver. Make that two golds if we annex Enfield.

Has everyone had a play with today's google doodle yet?

Yesterday, up the road, I thought I saw a red squirrel in the grass... as I drove by he scuttled to the bottom of a tree... I thought I must be seeing things, so never mentioned it. Just googling to see if there's a water taxi service and randomly discovered that there are red squirrels on the little island across the water.... so I guess squirrels can swim and some have come over here. It's only a 500 yard swim in their little furry suits :)

I think I've seen a program on that. Were there lots of rhodhedendron (sp?)onthe island as well?

No idea .... not been to the island. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/brownsea-island/ - it costs money and unless I can find a good reason to go I've zero interest in going just because it's there. Might kayak over there next year, except you have to cross the path of the big ferries, so need to understand the timetables :)

If there was a poll on what electronic gadgets NP had in their bedrooms it seems fly-swatters would come out top.
At least I could have joined in with that because, at present, I do have a bedroom. My gadgets are .... laptop, mobile phone ... and a battery alarm clock :)

I realised today that the big proper ferry goes past my bedroom window.... hadn't realised before as I'd not seen it arriving/leaving, but saw it arriving today.
