OH won't do it though.....he just doesn't like the feel of the place/area despite the arty bits springing up + the nice sandy beach.
Going to be a hard slog to do it but we have a target of saving up to move back to Brighton in 5 years. The dream would be something on the street in link below ....where we used to live but a bit further down.
Mind you, if I had a handy million in my pocket I wouldn't turn this one downhttp://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-33209905.html?premiumA=true
In fact if I won the lottery (which is hard when you never buy a ticket) I would buy this straight away...just to have for the weekends.0 -

Weymouth, for example, is at the seaside, commutable, cheap as chips (and a bit shabby/edgier).... but trying to just look in the one spot for now, until I've had more local feedback on places etc.... can always push the boundaries out as the months pass.
You are so doing the right thing. You kind of 'fit' down there too if I may say soyou know what I mean.
If you start working soon you'll build up even more local contacts too. In fact A Very Handy job could be P/T in an EA office. Get 1st dibs then....0 -

Absolutely!
Your parents arrive on the 16th?
Making the decision to DNR is not the same as making the decidion to die. I think God decides that and he's clearly thought better than to take her before now.
Please try to be objective, inform yourself, get at least two opinions, work out what is treatable and what is genuinely not and be careful of making someone you love suffer un-necessarily. To what degree is she likely to recover, what will her quality of life be in the short, medium and long term? You may have to be brave. Don't be afraid to ask questions because sometimes medical staff don't speak straight.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think you should go to hospital. I am also incredibly worried about you. Thus us not a simple referral, it's really, really important. Pick a potentially quiet time for a&e and take what you are entitled to.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Ive had a look at B&P and there seem to be zillions of properties on the market there in your price range, PN. A lot of them won't be selling this summer, which places you, with your cash and no chain, in a great hard-bargaining position.
:):)
We had two EAs here this week, just for a bit of advice, but they stayed for two hours with no prospect of selling anything, so you can see how busy the market is here! "It's gone completely flat since June," is what I was told.
I picked these guys because they seemed the least likely to give us a load of BS, but I didn't expect quite as much candour. Asked when they thought conditions might improve, the reply was, "If we're lucky, five years."
So there you are. No rush.0 -

I'm just looking at my phone, expecting it to wrong, for some reason tonight. I've tried, but can't sleep, and it's nearly 3am (!)
My parents get here on the 16th, and under Georgian law, there is a stronger duty of care to patients then in the UK. Maximum penalty if nothing is attempted while I'm weighing everything up is life imprisonment for the doctors in question, should the worst happen. I need to get this done quickly, and I'm worried that the 16th won't be long enough.
As already stated this morning, speaking with my parents in the morning is going to be important; they divorced about 15 years ago, but they're coming out together. I think that shows more solidarity than anything!
She's on a 'nil movement', and I've found myself getting help from a nurse just to move her enough to sit her up; I'm worried that the strain on the heart could be too much.
She's lived to 93; she's done well. I'd like to see her to 100, but I don't know.
