Tickets to rowing tomorrow!
AA grade £150 each
Had the 15 min wait. Love it.
Congrats Jonny! Should be a great day! Good to hear of someone else scoring tickets even after the 15 minute wait.
Chewy it is horridly frustrating, but if you are interested please stick at it. I have no idea what other tix will become available, but this is what we've managed to get from plugging away at that bl**dy awful site rather than being lucky and getting in the draw:
1 x opening ceremony £20.12
1 x closing ceremony £150.00 (sorry if I said it was £120 earlier)
2 x beach volleyball at £50 each
2 x archery at £30 each
1 x athletics at £50
1 x basketball at £20
1 x beach volleyball at £50
We've been plugging away and been offered other stuff too, but this is what we've bought. What I really want is tickets for the modern pentathlon at £75 - it's a whole day out and you get to go to several different venues and experience different sports as well as seeing the whole thing from start to medal presentation. They are as rare as hens teeth though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? My friends who've got me my tickets managed to get to the cycling and swimming last night. I'll find out later how they managed it, as they didn't have tickets for these events. It looks like you might be able to pick up unwanted tickets at Stratford? I'll update on my return from the Athletics tonight.0

Do you lot actually WANT these tickets, or has it now become a Survival of the Fittest contest where you'll almost buy anything at any price because you've caught Olympic fever and are so obsessional you just HAVE to have them all? ... and you'd rather enter a pact with the devil re your first born than have to admit to people that you didn't get any?0

This other thread suggests that the authorities have started blocking software that alerts you to tickets becoming available and also suggests twitter update to follow (expect everybody knows this already). No wonder getting tickets has become almost a game in itself. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

I really want to go, but not at any prices otherwise I would have bought the £450-£750 tickets you can get for the athletics. I would probably pay about £1k for a ticket (only if I could get 2 though, be a bit boring sitting there on my own) to get into one of the key sessions at the velodrome, but otherwise not really interested in paying much more than £100/ticket, and then only for something I want to see. Bottom line is that I just want to get into the Olympic park and see what it is like in there - if I can't get in there for a reasonable price then I'll got during the Paralympics for £10/ticket, but wont be quite the same then.
At this rate looks like the Paralympics it is, as I am away all weekend so won't be able to spend the hours sitting on the website required to get tickets for anything half decent.0 -
Just reading in the papers about a body found near our old doctor's surgery in the missing millionairess story. We thought we were living in a quiet sedate area but it's strange to think even places like that can have weird stuff going on in the background.

Somebody tell me this isn't usual .... surely not everybody except me's living like this??
The last person I saw using silver tea stuff as an everyday thing was my grandmother, who died in 1990, so no, it's not just you. I agree with lir, though, that it's nice if people who own these things use them instead of hiding them away somewhere safe.lostinrates wrote: »There is a fab art programme on bbc atm. It's your ceiling. I think you should "dare" to do anything you like - if you can get fir to agree, of course. The opticians idea is a very good one and I would do it. My dad just went for a routine eye test and they were very knowledgable.
You never know.....for an hour of your time could be worth doing as they may see something. It's always possible it is unrelated to your current condition.
I can tell you're concerned but the a+e idea may not work as it depends on what they have in. If you can sit ok and aren't on the floor in agony it can be a long long wait and then you may see someone who hasn't much idea of the things to do with your symptoms. Aain though, nothing ventured and all that so worth a try too.
Also it is NHS killing week this week, so if you see a junior in A&E they may not even know anything about A&E, let alone neurology.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Much of our area was destroyed by Martians and their phenomenal Heat-Ray.

Update
OK I've spoken to them this morning. It seems Touts are still around, although keeping a very low profile. They actually got tickets for the Cycling 30 mins before the start from some Guy who had a couple of spares. Although they only paid face value, I think they were the expensive seats.0
