DD had to go for a scan. She reassured then that she was definitely not wearing anything metal, they turned the scanner on, then off again when her hair stood on end. Then she removed her hair pins .... :)

My hair got staticy today, mri, which it never does usually, but they checked me for hair pins. I lay on my hair, whoch got a bit uncomfy towards the end.

Ok enough is enough. Please take this to the football & underwear thread.

Oh comeop n chey, they were nice knickers, neither matronish nor cheese wirey. The colour purple of the quality street everyone likes. the ones i wore were french knickers in pale purple with a matching camisole. Very demure, hardly underweary, and wothy of any shop counter while i fish around in bag for other stuff.

Glad it all went ok, and that they looked after you lir. I don't think you're too unusual in not liking being inside the scanner. Maybe the oh no no no cat was less conventional though :D

The oh no no cat is a cool cat though, so hopefully appropriate.

Still thinking about the hospital, It really was like a hotel. Very swish. I hope if i have to go in anywhere i can go there, Its got contry side views, a pianist in the lobby and less than an hour from home. Its not all that ar from nhs hospitals is something more heinous happens. Oh well, too early to think about that as chances are i will not need to go in anywhere i think.

Oh yes, definitely appropriate :) I do like that there is someone else silly enough to use a phrase like cool cats

Hopefully you won't need to go anywhere, but at least it might make it less daunting if you could be somewhere swish.

Edit: thanks for the bra update too. I think my ma has one more test showing nothing to go before she gets sent for a scan, so at least we'll know to take something without metal bits now.

If she does want to wear metal there and back if its like mine she will be offered a gown, so its ok anyway. :)

Is it her head? If its not head the bonus is you get music. For heads you cannot have music.

I think hers would be the whole body (or at least torso). I'm sure she would like to have some music - I doubt there will be a pianist in the lobby if she does get a scan :p

Glad you're back - and still in as much of one piece as you arrived there in :)

I went out for a walk, to the beach, round the headland, into town. Saw one of those living statue people - where they stand absolutely still until unsuspecting people pass by .... well, I was on the ball as I saw a wet bit of pavement, so knew he had a water pistol and I walked round the outside of that area.... took a couple of snaps of him. He was completely painted/dressed in copper, including his hat and bag.

I took a couple of snaps, but there were a lot of people about so I had split seconds when I had a clear view.

I hate the living statue people. When I was little we went to York, and were down a small cobbled street (the smallest street in Britain or something like that) and one jumped out at me. I blame them for making me quite a jumpy person (is jumpy even a word?), and I also get spooked out by waxwork models
