Had to dial into a conference call at 5.30 this evening, hosted by a US law firm, with a billion USians on the line. Five hours later and they announce they need to finish the call now as it's home time...
Really.
6 partners and countless associates on the line as well, the call probably cost someone more money than I earn in a year. And it was a right waste of time too.0 -

I always used to get bad legs/feet after going there, as the floors are too solid.
It's not the same as merry hell, the shops are posher and the chavs wear addidas not kappa!
I remember merry hell when it was just a row of five or six shops. A halfords and a pet shop I think, a do-it-all and a jolly green giant! Then they built the cinema which meant we didn't have to go all the way to Redditch to see a film, so that was good. Then they built the rest and it got rubbish.0 -
1.5 hours to breakfast time.... sun's out. Torch is here today .... I don't expect to bother unless it's dry at the time.0

Saw this on the newspaper review this morning. Such a shame he wasn't able to video it. I've looked up the link so that you don't have to. The article in the paper is titled "Saturday Night Beaver". You don't want to know the other sites that offered me.

A us firm with a home time?? Who, dh will apply to them!0 -
DS back from interrailing.
They don't seem to have spent very much time on trains.
They visited museums on their travels, that quite impressed me.
I always though interrailing was meant to be cheap. They included a day at a Meridian hotel, a spa day and they hired a boat with skipper! It wasn't the lawyers who wanted to end the call - we'd still be going now if they had their way. There were some extremely unimportant govt officials on there...0 -
I almost find it disturbing that we don't build houses the right size and struicture the first time round. We don't buy unicycles and fit a second wheel on them
Sometimes we fo ( or did) but used them differently. E.g. I know what my wonderful builder would do here is different, but we use rooms differently.so, he can see what is right for him,or for sale, is not right for us! Similarly, open plan horrifies me...i like rooms i can shut everyone else out of so we can make different noises without disturbing each other. Others would find the series of downstairs rooms here pokey and oppresive.
A friend of ours has the most amazing tardis house. It looks like a tiny cottage, but unfolds as you enter to have three decent cottage recption rooms. Its got three bedrooms two, where looks like room for one, but the tardis ran out by the bathroom.....they have a tiny bath like a big stock pot.0
