After last year's blighted bizzy lizzys, I've gone for marigolds and bush lobelia.

"Water well after planting" Don't think I need to worry about that.

I'd also missed that lir is having a scan. Good luck today!

I ordered when you mentioned and one lot arrived yesterday, the other order (for my over 19 son who can't be ordered with the rest) hasn't arrived.

DS is already on holiday and I looked it up online and, provided you own a card you don't have to have it with you to access the NHS equivalent medical care.

On other threads, people have recommended putting water damaged phones in bowls of uncooked rice to dry out - and they talk of a week not a day.

I gather something like that is supposed to happen. Was thinking of scanning and emailing an image of the card to DD or texting the card number. I think I Spain you need to show thecard on going to a state hospital. There's supposed to be a replacement form you can bget and I wonder if it can be faxed or also sent in an email. Seems funny to have to rely on snailmail for this kind of thing.:o

I've a feeling I've posted that somewhere myself! Certainly done it for memory sticks successfully
Yep- me and allthe sss discussed this in February when Viva's laptop was damaged. How did that work out?

Yay! Just logged into facebook for the first time in weeks, because I wanted to see if anyone in my kids' PTA could help me out next year with lifts to school for DD (with possibility of reciprocal arrangement on the days I don't have to be at work early). Not only have I fixed up with another mother - so no childminding fees :) - but I find that a friend (a wonderful, wise, kind, long-established, geographically distant, extremely busy and heretofore facebook-resistant friend) has just joined up. :)
PS Said newly facebook-using friend is DD's godfather.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Further info on need for health insurance visiting Channel Islands. It was never covered by EHIC but there was a bilateral agreement which was terminated 2009:

    I am tourist fail.

I went out ... arrived, hadn't picked up my plastic raincoat.... and it was spitting with rain. Never mind.... down the road I spotted something photo-worthy, popped out the camera.... doh.... I'd left the memory card in the PC and the internal memory was full .... so, there I am, no raincoat and no camera.

Wandered around a bit, bought some sweeties .... and just popped into the storage to dig out some stuff.

    But - now - it's SCORCHIO!!!!

An observation: I can't believe how many repeat shops are everywhere here!!! I've seen another Frankie & Bennys, two more Marks and Spencers ... and a WAITROSE!!

I've also discovered there's a Tesco 1.5 miles one way and an Asda 2 miles the other way.

Really starting to get out and see what's out there.... and what I can see is: anything I could possibly want is simply out there.

Caveat: except, of course, affordable clothes in my size that fit me and suit me.

I think I want a posh phone.... so many services etc have an app. For the buses you can even stand at a bus stop and instantly find out how long the next bus will take! And a journey planner for the buses.... so handy apps.

I need to find a hairdresser that doesn't charge £50-80 .... because I'm highly likely to be going out in about 10 days' time and can't look like the resident bag lady ... there'll be very very important people there.

Also need to have it done for potential job interviews I guess... as I am still at the optimistic stage of believing I'll be fought-over once my CV hits the local streets :)

I'm glad you are finding your way around PN. Plenty discount opportunities in Tesco and Asda. See the grabbit board for threads.

No point grabbing it if I've no home/kitchen :)

But once I have got somewhere.... I can go there. Although I found most Grabbits weren't of interest to me. I have few/small needs.... and most grabbits are bulk/family orientated.
