PN, apart from thinking about iphones did you ever get an upgraded phone as discussed back earlier in the thread. DD has finished her exam, and wants a smartphone. The other threads claim this Huawei Ascend G300 is the bees knees at £100. It's stuck on Vodaphone PAYG for three months apparently; she wants to stay with her tesco network.

Our local high street seems to have loads of stalls that say they unlock phones - has anyone ever had that done? Does it work, or does it ruin the phone? :o

And for phones is there any advantage to buying from the company's store or an online provider like amazone etc., as the price looks the same?
No, didn't do anything. And now I don't have an address so won't be buying stuff.

Seriously, if that sort of stuff becomes an issue yell. I could take a parcel for you or something if you are heading east eventually.

Attach either a GPS chip to it, or one of those keyrings that beeps when you whistle :)

I know dialling it only works if your battery's full ... and it's within 50 feet of where you are.

... And it its not on silent (my favourite trick) :)

It usually works, the problem is if it doesn't work you have no comeback.

Most phones sold by the carphone warehouse are unlocked.

The other option is seeing if Tesco phone shop sell it.

My sister has the Huawei Blaze and is very happy with it.
It's not available in CW or Mr Ts. Passed a stall that unlocks phones today but the Vodaphone shop was closed when i went past so I couldn't have a look at it.

I've heard good things about that phone. Apparently it is about 73 quid delivered from Very.co.uk with a new customer code and can be unlocked for £5 via ebay.
Unfortunately I signed up with Very almost two years ago and I don't think I still have a valid new customer code. I think I had to order a game for DS and then cancel it as it was a duplicate order, so presumably blown my chance for a discount.

I am debating a business proposition. A client told me of another potential client she saw advertisng for some where like my place. However, she only wants to pay about half what i charge. The money would be useful though. It would mean i could only take a couple more full paying clients, plus i have the isse that my existing client knows the woman won't pay what io charge, so potential for dissent amoung the ranks. And i do value the existing clients.

I have always thought some money is better than none, but this would take up my availabilty for all of winter at least so could not take full paying ones, but would be giving income i could use to put into hings that really need doing.

I have only just advertised for the first time, locally and on an interent site. Wait and see if i get any bites from advertising, or consider taking the bargain basement client?

Without knowing a lot about it...
Sounds like it could cause trouble to me - as existing client knows what the other person is prepared to pay, and so would know that they are paying more. Would you be able to charge the potential client less, but in return for less? I would be inclined to wait and see what turns up through advertising.

How would you feel about missing out on this client and not being very successful through the ad?

I would wait for a full price client. No point making current one unhappy.
