When I was 18 a (rich) friend's dad was buying her a flat on the corner of Harley Street and she asked me to go with her..... and to think my parents banned me and said they'd never speak to me if I moved there as London was dangerous....... the girl who did end up going with her was last seen driving a Ferrari (or it might have been a Lamborghini), having travelled the world after meeting a rich bloke.Advice please, youngest is going interrailing, we've decided that the iphone is too precious and the danger of accidentally getting a high data roaming bill means that he is taking an old unlocked phone with.
Now we've just realised that his SIM card is a micro one, so it won't fit in the phone. So its time for a PAYG SIM. He's going to be in Europe and Croatia (which is not the EU in mobile terms), travelling means it is not cost effective to buy a SIM for each country, so which network do peeps recommend?
Parents... who'd have them??0 -
I never "like" anything on FB really - it's all shiite and annoying stuff and "typical Take a Break subscribers".....0

Had she intentionally kept it safe, or just not got round to killing it yet? How is it now?
Its fine, its in the pouchy bit of my mucky hoody, oops no, dh is back with a cage for it for now. I am trying to decide what to do with it...i can stick it in the hedgehog cage in the house or see if my hen with chicks can be duped if i try her with it tonight...risky, as her chicks are probably too big, but better if succesful.
Doubt she meant ti bring it alive, she is a good hunter, but she seemed proud of herself0 -
Btw, i hope you relaise that is not my big ban hand and hairy arm!0

This started as a simple exercise to replace my hard disk with an SSD. Now it seems to have morphed into installing Win 7 on the SSD, then transferring everything from the old HDD, reinstalling all the programmes, etc. It is just sooo painful.
LIR, you reckon Katie Whotsit is riding a real horse in that picture, not a stuffed one? It's quite good she's staying on it when it rears, then, even if she is sitting in an armchair. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I've seen this link on another thread- it's for a Vectone roaming bundle and it's cheap. But the reviews are iffy.Advice please, youngest is going interrailing, we've decided that the iphone is too precious and the danger of accidentally getting a high data roaming bill means that he is taking an old unlocked phone with.

More on this thread
Other sites say it's cheap to buy a SIM in Croatiia. Last time I was there was so long ago you had to make international calls from the post office whose interior was dominated by a giant photo of Tito covering one wall. You queued for a teller and prepaid for 5or 10 minutes call. Another wall was full of phone booths where you made your international calls ( an operator talked you through it). I gather it's all got easier now! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Best if you google "callserve" or "abroadband". Giffgaff may be useful too. CK probably knows a thing or two about this. What countries might he visit?Advice please, youngest is going interrailing, we've decided that the iphone is too precious and the danger of accidentally getting a high data roaming bill means that he is taking an old unlocked phone with.
