That was quick! It was only released yesterday. The following news stories probably explains why quite well.....

    (mirror of video available here)

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/9349923/Science-girl-thing-video-branded-offensive.html

I don't think the european commission science arm meant for the news to be *this* big
    Hmm!
I'd be embarrassed to show that video to a class.
I think I recommended a Lower Dens video a while back which showed archive footage or an Apollo launch. I'd hesitate to show that to a class as well, despite the fact they need to know that it wasn'tall a hoax.
Look at the gender /colour balance of the NASA workforce. To be fair I've never seen film of the other countries' mission controls like China or the Soviet Union.

By the way, to find out how good the internet is at answering factual questions you can have a laugh at this page (or get depressed depending on how worried you are about the next generation's background knowledge).

Disgusted with your life? You are not the bfs, i hope!

Domestic violence. There is no positive spin on that is there. None at all.

Not my life, just life! I don't really understand it - I have been angry, very angry (not just 'you washed my passport' angry either) but it wouldn't cross my mind to deal with it that way).

That is horrible. The only positive I can find is at least they have both removed themselves from the relationships.

Yes, they have. Although old secretary's daughter ex continues to have an effect. Apparently he phoned up the venue for her birthday (they had booked a cottage for the weekend for a family trip away) party and cancelled it - which they only found out when they arrived.

Love mushrooms, read a !!!! book a week. Is there a link between mushrooms and bad fiction?

You wouldn't need to. You are an inteligent human being with a wit sharper than a knife. A lot more women who talk about lack of emotional intelligence in men are also emotionally dim and accept it. I am ashamed i didn't leave my ex when the ascerbic wit got too sharp. I never, ever thought he would physically hurt him, in fcat, i don't suppose he did either, at least, i hope he didn't . Its amazing what you can convince your self is acceptable.

Gosh, i bet he thoinks he is incredibly clever for that too.

I wonder if the link might be fiction, especially imaginitive stuff. Much as i love them it does take an imagination or an astounding familiarity to look at a mushroom growing in poop and think 'food'.

A lot of food's like that. It was a brave man/woman who first ate blue cheeese IMHO.

Or who looked at a cow and thought " See those things dangling underneath that animal? I'm hungry enough to eat anything I can squeeze out of them"

I wonder if the science vid is from the Ryanair school of advertising where no publicity is bad publicity. Getting something mentioned in the media will drive a lot more traffic than any 'good' video however well done.
    I think....

I think i like to imagine it was a woman, who was struggling to feed her kid, and as she watched a wilderbeast or prezwalski's horse or whatever, feeding its young thought......hmmm....that might just work.

Can someone horsey help me over this extraordinary picture, please? It is something to do with that well-known horse-lover Katie Price. "The star revealed that the Lloyds Bank Black stallion was one of her childhood bedroom pin-ups." But, forgive me being crude, is that actually a stallion? Or a gelding? Is it really a live horse or a statue? And that saddle is quite unusual.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
