I know there are some nice people with wonderful technical understanding who might be able to help me.

We have internet through plus net.

It is scratchy and patchy and slow. This has been fine for just me but when parent moves in (heavy user of things like iplayer) and dh is working from home in the summer we need something smoother and faster.

We do not have cable, though otherwise might consider ine with phone and tv, though that initself would cause 'issues' as to which tv got the benefit of that.

I just don't know where to start when cheapest not the only consideration! Any ideas?

First thing to establish is what your options are.

Put your post code in here and it will show you your options...

If you only have ASDL Max available, Plusnet (which I have) and O2 are probably your best options judging on QOS, price and bandwidth usage.

ADSL Max is not really enough to give a great multi-user performance if there is a lot of downloading or youtube use.

You could also try a speed test just to see if your connection is performing as it should.

This is mine for ADSL Max...

Another factor affecting performance is distance from exchange.

Not sure how fast it is, but it sounds good if you have decent mobile reception on a particular network.

I think the screen on the wildfire is to low for browsing anyway, you want a min of 800x480.

I would go for this deal if I were you for phone/internet. - 6.66 per month with unlimited data and plenty of minutes as you presumably will be without landline on your travels.

I couldn't see any NP in the mail either although I did see a photo of bunting which was what the photographer was off to look for having finished filming us on Saturday. I am pretty sure they said we would be in today but possibly tomorrow. I haven't heard anything since the photos on Saturday nor received the promised hamper.

Opening the big doors and having the blinds down does help with the heat but I am regretting not spending the extra 500 quid (aside from the fact we couldn't afford it) and having some AC put in when we were having the extension. It would be the ideal application to accompany solar panels.
    I think....

My personal experience is that the mail can drop a story like that or swap people used if they decide to. No notice, no contact. It might be shelved for a bit to come out tomorrow/ a few days.....

I don't even know what that means, except I think BT are lying to me about the infinity thing?! They say 40mb per second?
