Hey all,
PG needs some advice...
Just had the estate agent on the phone, the vendor is threatening to put /my/ house back up for open viewing cos the lender still hasn't sent a surveyor...
On chasing it with my mortgage advisor, it seems the Nationwide have been dragging their heels and still haven't sent to my work for a reference... but they will fax it over this afternoon
Now, most of you will know I'm at risk of redundancy (as if that isn't enough stress for one month...)
Does anyone know whether that means they'll pull the plug? Can anyone think of anything I can do? (other than sweet talking my HR department)
Many thanks, love and hugs
A very stressed PG xxx0 -

Jackie0 - enjoy your day. My spring cleaning hasn't fully sprung yet so if you get the urge for more....;)
Churchmouse - What a journey! Couldn't you get your Dad to post it too you so you can deal with it from home? Much easier and cheaper than making that trip and maybe your Dad's mind will be put at rest once he has 'passed it on' and knows you will handle it.
Reverie - Nice to read your post, no the floodgates are opened we shall expect a missive everyday LOL:D
Hugs to all

Well, we are both suffering after yesterdays boot sale, very tired. We went to bed after a quick bath after we watched Crufts last night, but both have stiff limbs etc.......
We went and dumped a load of stuff that did not sell at the charity shop and I nipped into the bank to deposit some cash, since we got home I have transferred it into our high interest account on the internet.
Made a pan full of soup for lunch, an apple, blackberry and raspberry crumble and have a loaf on............ cold chicken for supper, OH has a meeting tonight, so he needs an early supper......
Right I am off for a quick 40 winks..............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Thanks for the welcome
Paulie'sGirl - Really sorry to hear you may be made redundant. Does your mortgage advisor know that? I would speak to the estate agent and just apologise sincerely about how rubbish the mortgage company are being, explain that they have been chased etc and will continue to be chased every day until they do the valuation. Ask them to extend this apology to the vendor. Also, I would definitely have a word with the HR department if it is appropriate in your own internal politics etc. Could just say to expect reference form etc. and guage what they say. HTH. Trying to buy a house is stressful at the best of times0 -
Good afternoon everyone :j
Currently doing the management accounts at work (yawn yawn), so I thought I'd have a quick break before I go blind
Welcome Reverie :hello:
Collective hugs :grouphug: to everyone else - especially those with the Monday blues
Brekkie was coffee
Lunch was a chicken sarnie (left over from yesterdays roast)
Tea tonight is Shepherd's Pie and sprouts
Only 1 1/2 hours to go and then I'm a free woman (well for today anyway). Need to get going with a stack of ironing when I get home - so not every cloud has a silver lining
Has anyone seen Queenie or Ronankfan latelySquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Paulie'sGirl - Not sure in all honesty about the mortgage, best bet would be to nip onto the mortgage board as I'm sure a number of the posters there will be able to assist. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0

Well hello everybody and big hugs and "get well"s to all who need it. I have today been to see my surgeon who has said another 2 weeks off work initally and then a weekly review. As I'm still having daily district nurses I wasn't too surprised at this - so no work for me probably until the end of April
it would be great if it wasn't for the fact that I will probably go onto half pay soon  (2 months full then off to half on my NHS contract as I only have 5 years continuous service). Still, OH has gone to his admin job. Doctor today said no lifting, bending, stretching so when I got home I planted the pansy fillers in the window boxes and the polys as well  . OH had to do the grape hyacinths - I am suffering for it now as well..... E-mailed work and told them I won't be in just yet. MIL rang before too. As you will remember it was Nephew's 1st b/d this weekend and we bought clothes and sent them up - OH had to ring up early evening to see that they'd got the stuff - they are so ill-mannered. MIL said that there was a full house with loads of people drinking (they had a HUGE christening where the infant was just passed from person to person for them to juggle with their pints..... ) and they were all very merry. However, you will all laugh at this, the event was fully catered by a company  . I was stunned. Mum has gone back to work p/t (Thurs and Fri) and has a huge family who always seem to be 'round. No wonder I saw a couple of snotty chasing payment letters when we were up at Christmas on the kitchen table and an invitation from the bank to "discuss their overdraft". I told OH this today and also that I was appalled they had had a caterer in and he said "well, I know what you'd do and what I'd do for a party". Mind you, they didn't have any carpets for a few years and yet loads of Chanel make-up and ready meals
Talk about priorities...... Well, I'm going to start on my e-bay listings and do some admin (revise the D/D to the bills account thanks to my poll tax and electric going up) and then chill. B/fast was cereal (since hospital I am addicted to cornflakes); lunch was soup and dinner will probably be a chick pea and spinach curry as I think I've a jar of curry sauce in the pantry.
Ta Ta peepsBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them.
Well I was good and proper oldstyle at the weekend and have now had to come back to work for a rest:D The recycled door is hung and looks very posh [well anything would in view of the fact that there's been nothing there for the last 4 years:rotfl: ] and I did all the baking like a good girl. Even done my ironing...now where is that halo must give it a polish!!!!
OS today has been the glamorous task of putting out the recycling and cleaning the furry thing's litter tray. Tonight I am "planning" to make vanilla fudge for my Mum for Mother's day. I have snaffled an empty Ferrero Rocher box from work which should do the trick and it gives me the perfect excuse to use the overpriced gaudy sweet cases I bought at Chrimbo with a very old voucher I found lurking. Wish me luck!
Had some more stuff collected off freecycle this weekend the small person did tremendously well because my parents bid for and got some elephant bookends for him which he is thrilled with. And I naively thought that the whole point of freecycle was to cut down on your clutter not simply replace it with someone elses!!
Finished the Judith Levine book last night.. found it interesting but more of a discourse on American consumerism. She had some valid points to make though.
Hope it's gloriously sunny where you are...some sort of muddle for tea tonight using up various lurkers in various margarine pots in the fridge....mmm delicious. Now where's that takeaway menu:D

Well middle dd overslept so we've not opened the bank acocunt for dgs - she tells me that she wants to leave for lily allen at five which means they will be there at 6.30 - doors open at 7.30 - i've told them there's no pointgoing in much before nine unless they want to see the support but they know best
plus they've got seats so its not like they'll be rushing to get to the front. So now exdh is having to pick up youngest from school and wil lgive her tea which is defrosting at the mo so i might treat myself to a meal or drink in hammersmith - luckily they will be able to get back by themselves so i won't need to hang about. Middle dd is in a panic cos she now only has three hours to get ready
. I've got a gig this week too - Bromheads Jacket on Wednesday - less faffing there - i will simply run home from work, change suit for jeans and jacket and jump on the tube.
Have spent the morning marrying up cds and dvds to boxes and there's lots of both left over - toyed with the idea of arranging alphabetically .... ah no!
Have also sown some more seeds in the propogators to make up for the ones dgs ruined and planted some salad leaves and radishes in containers - wish me luck!I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Good AFternoon All
Had a crap day at work, busy and kept myself quiet from the other's. Just because I couldn't be As5ed to join in with general conversations!
Off to do the school run in a bit, then off to the post office to post ebay parcels. Sellings wasn't too bad - but could have been better. Anyway after 1 arrogant t0sser decided to inform me that my terms & regulations was rude (for those of you who know my id and perhaps read them, what do you think) I decided to re-word it all and minimise it, and put the rest on "about me" page! Ive never had any complaints before. And like I said to him - my feedback speeks for itself. He's been a member longer than me, and with more negatives. So who can he judge about my T&C's.
Anyway, best be off
Take care
